“Nothing. I just wanted to remind you that Yvvy’s an innocent person. If you keep lying to her, you’re going to lose her trust entirely,” Jeremiah added slowly.
Xavier hated it when Jeremiah acted like he knew Yvette a lot. “You don’t have to worry about it.”
He paused for a moment before adding with a low voice, “However, I should remind you that there’s a limit to my patience. If Yvvy finds out anything, I won’t care if you’re my brother anymore.” Then, he opened the car door and let the maid guide him back.
Jeremiah remained in the car and watched Xavier from behind as the latter left. Then, he narrowed his eyes. When the cold wind blew into the car, he started coughing violently.
One of his men was in the car. When he heard Jeremiah coughing, he hurriedly brought him a warm glass of water. “Mr. Jeremiah, are you alright?”
Jeremiah only stopped coughing after a while. “I’m fine. What has Daphne been up to recently?”
“She’s been hiding in the rented apartment and has never left the place,” the man answered. Daphne was worried that Tristan might get his revenge on her, and she kept living in fear.
As Jeremiah closed his eyes to get some rest, he received a call from Jackie.
“Mr. Jeremiah, I’ve looked into the matter you asked me to investigate before. There’s a company from abroad called IM Enterprise that’s been snatching our overseas projects. They seem to know a lot about how we work, so I think there’s a spy in our company.” Jackie hadn’t taken a break during the festival so that she could help Jeremiah.
He pinched the bridge of his nose and asked, “Jackie, don’t you think it could be someone who has left the company instead?”
She realized what he was saying. “Are you saying that it’s Mr. Xavier? Didn’t he lose his memories? Besides, he can’t see anything now…”

“Jackie, it’s just a hunch, so you don’t have to say it out loud.” Then, he added, “Since it’s the festival today, you don’t have to investigate anymore. Have a good rest.”
Jackie stayed silent for a moment
before saying, “I don’t have any
family in Tirion, so there’s no one for
me to celebrate the festival with. Since eve nothing to do, I’ll keep looking into it. It’ll make it easy for us to answer the shareholders during the board meeting.
When Jeremiah heard that, he gently said, “You can have a break for a week, so head home to visit your parents.” “There’s no need for-“
“Think of it as a mission for you.”
Jackie was currently sitting at her desk at home. She had a blissful look in her eyes as she said, “Alright. Thank you, Mr. Jeremiah.” After hanging up the phone, she turned on her laptop to buy herself a flight ticket. However, she suddenly saw the trending news.

The discussions online were going wild.
Meanwhile, Jeremiah saw the news as well, and he smiled. He wanted to see how Xavier would explain the situation since he was pretending to have amnesia. That was only the beginning.
Since Daphne had grown up with Yvette, she knew a lot about the latter. She also knew how she could make Yvette suffer and give up on someone of her own accord.
The next morning, Yvette was woken up by her ringing phone. When she answered the call, she heard Kiki asking furiously, “Yvvy, have you seen the news?”
