“Great-Grandpa, from what I know, a notice to demolish the factory and build a subway will be issued within the next three days.”
He paused and explained calmly, “Once that notice comes out, the land price will go up. It will likely be at least three times Mr. Yandell’s offer. If you plan to develop property there, its value will increase even more.” Archibald was initially taken aback but quickly signaled for his subordinate to come closer. “Go check it out.”
“Yes, sir.”
Archibald was less concerned about whether there would be a demolition notice and more about the fact that Lawrence was trying to pull a fast one right under his nose. Lawrence was incredulous as he stared at the child in front of him in shock. How did he know so much insider information?
“Kid, you shouldn’t speak recklessly. How could I not know about the upper-level notifications?” Lawrence chuckled awkwardly.
Seeing that her husband had been exposed by a child, Yara tried to smooth things over. “Yes, dear. You have to watch what you say.”
She gave Zachary a discreet glare, thinking that he was just a child and would be intimidated.
However, Zachary showed no deference toward her. “Great-Grandpa, I don’t like her. Can you make them leave?”
Yara and Lawrence were stunned.
Three minutes later, the two were escorted out. Kiki thoroughly enjoyed the scene.
Thinking Zachary’s dislike for the visitors was the reason for his comment about the demolition notice, Archibald asked, “Zac, why don’t you like Madam Cadwell?” Before Zachary could answer, Archibald’s subordinate hurriedly returned.
“Mr. Shaw Senior, I had someone investigate it. It turns out that Mr Zachary’s information was correct. Lawrence Yandell had indeed gotten the news early, so they cameover trying to take advantage of you.”
The subordinate finished speaking in one breath, panting. He had deep admiration for Zachary in his eyes. How could such a young child be so smart and know about the high-level news?
In fact, it was easy for the Shaw family to obtain such information, but with so many businesses under their management, they didn’t concern themselves with the minor details.
“Really?” Archibald’s pupils dilated in
shock. Seeing his subordinate nod, he immediately turned and patted Zachary’s shoulder. “My clever great-grandson, how did you know this information?” FindNovel.net
After all, Zachary was only four years old!
He realized that, by embarrassing Yara, he had inadvertently exposed himself. He quickly lied, saying, “An uncle of mine told me.”
“Oh.” Archibald was slightly
disappointed. Still, he thought that a
child who could think so clearly and logically was indeed a genius. “If it for you, I would have been
taken advantage of.”
Kiki watched silently, feeling skeptical. She doubted Zachary’s explanation.
After all, why would any middle-aged man discuss such matters with a child? This little trickster could lie without batting an eye and deceive the elderly without fear of divine retribution.
After the incident was settled and Archibald went to rest, Kiki immediately called Yvette to update her on the situation.
“You wouldn’t believe how capable Zac has become. If it weren’t for him, Mr. Shaw Senior would have signed the contract with Yara.”
Yvette, recalling that Zachary was smart enough to know Xavier was his father, assumed he must also know that Yara was his grandmother. She asked Zachary, “Zac, do you know who that lady we met today was?”
Zachary nodded without the intention of hiding anything. “I do. She is my biological grandmother.”
