Upon arriving in Tirion, Yvette met with Cynthia and then went to a cafe near Titan Corporation.
Yvette waited there while Cynthia, who had a recording device on her, kept her updated on any developments.
As Yvette sat back, sipping her coffee and staring at the towering Titan Corporation building, she failed to notice someone standing right in front of her.
“Yvette!”
Startled, Yvette turned around and saw Yvonne, Daphne’s best friend.
“What are you doing here?” Yvonne hadn’t been able to believe her eyes at first, but when she’d gotten closer, she’d realized that it really was Yvette. “Why can’t I be here?” Yvette replied, finding the question amusing.
Yvonne, now furious, demanded, “You almost got Daphne blacklisted, and you still have the nerve to stay in Tirion? How shameless can you be?” Surprisingly, Yvonne was still standing up for Daphne.
Not in the mood to indulge her, Yvette responded, “Did I do that? Was I the one who forced her to take that video?”
“Daph said the video was fake. She wasn’t the one in the video,” Yvonne retorted.
“And you believe her? Do you not have a mind of your own? The video can be easily verified to prove whether it’s fake or not. I trust that you have the means to check that, right? You’re the daughter of the Holden family, after all.”
Yvonne couldn’t bring herself to answer Yvette. Out of frustration, she stormed out and immediately called Daphne to inform her that Yvette was in Tirion.
Daphne was busy preparing for a new TV show. It hadn’t been easy for her to get a role in another TV show after she apologized to Yvette. At the moment, she didn’t want to go against Yvette.
After thanking Yvonne for letting her know, Daphne hung up the phone.
Yvonne was still fuming when bumped into Yara, who was getting out of her car.
Yara had come there because she’d heard that Cameron had gone to Titan Corporation first. She wanted to help Zoey get the exclusive rights to the song.
“Yvonne, who did you just say was here?” Yara asked.
Yvonne was surprised by the coincidence of running into both the mother and the daughter. She replied irritably, “Your daughter, Yvette.”
With that, she got into her car.
When Yara heard that, she recalled how Yvette had told her to get lost the last time they’d seen each other. More importantly, Yvette had James’ will! Yara headed to the cafe and indeed found Yvette sitting by the window, staring at her laptop.
“I underestimated you before.” Yara knocked on the table. “Have you found a job now?”
Yvette immediately closed her laptop, preventing Yara from seeing the sheet music on the screen. Yvette’s actions didn’t bother Yara. What kind of job could a disabled person like Yvette get anyway?
“I forgot something when you kicked me out. Where’s the will?”
She extended her hand. “Give me the will. You should know that, as your father’s wife, I’m entitled to half of
his property, even if he may
will.
Give me the invalid will.”
“If you believe it’s invalid, why do you want it?” Yvette asked calmly.
Yara was stunned. She hadn’t expected Yvette to be so
sharp-tongued now. Suddenly, her phone rang with a call from Spencer. He said, “Ms. Cameron is about to leave Titan Corporation.”
Upon hearing this, Yara hurried out without saying another word to Yvette.
Yvette also received an updated from Cynthia through her hearing aid, which was equipped with Bluetooth technology, allowing her to hear the latter’s voice. Cynthia informed her the negotiation had gone well; it was now up to her to make a decision.
Hence, Yvette followed Yara out. Before she reached Cynthia, she saw Yara stopping the latter.
She immediately turned on the eavesdropping device installed in her hearing aid.
She heard Yara fawningly say to Cynthia, “Ms. Cameron, right? I didn’t expect you to be so young. I’m Zoey Yandell’s mother. Could I speak with you first?” Zoey Yandell’s mother?
Something snapped in Yvette’s mind.
