Xavier, who was at Dewberry Manor, was still angry and giving Yvette the cold shoulder because of what had happened yesterday. Once, the thing Yvette had worried about the most was Xavier ignoring her. But now, she wanted nothing more for him to do that.
She had just finished arranging her music and sent it to a company overseas today. She had also received incredibly good news-her company had successively received several anonymous investments totaling to billions of dollars.
The investors had expressed their admiration for her and stated that more investments would follow as long as they could use her music. Such high royalties were beyond Yvette’s wildest dreams.
Of course, she didn’t know that Xavier had lost over seven billion dollars from his private account.
Her phone rang at that moment. Seeing that it was a call from Kiki, she unknowingly glanced upstairs.
Xavier was still in the study, working. Apart from when he had his meals, he hadn’t come down all day. He’d had a cold expression the whole time.
She walked outside and answered the phone. “Kiki, what’s wrong?”
“Yvvy, I’m sorry.” Kiki sobbed uncontrollably as she crouched on the roadside. “T-Tristan really thinks Zac is his son. He took him away! I tried to get Zac back, but I couldn’t even get into Bay Villa. He had his men throw me out.”
Yvette’s chest tightened instantly. “Don’t panic. Don’t cry. Take your time and tell me everything.”
Kiki recounted the day’s events to her. “That bastard said he wants to take care of Zac himself and asked me to name my price, saying I could ask for any amount of money…”
Such a huge misunderstanding was completely unexpected.
Why would Tristan even think Zachary was his son?
After calming herself down, Yvette comforted Kiki. “Kiki, don’t cry. This isn’t your fault. Who could have known he’d get such a wrong idea?
“Since he thinks Zac is his son, he definitely won’t harm him. I’m sure he’ll return Zac if we just tell him that Zac isn’t his son.”
Kiki thought the same.
“Yvvy, he blocked me. I can’t reach him at all, and I’m too scared to contact anyone else.”
If this matter blew up, she was afraid Xavier would get suspicious.
Because Noah was still with Xavier, if Xavier saw Zachary as well, he would notice that the two children looked very similar. Although Xavier had seen Zachary before, it had been very brief, so she thought it couldn’t have left an impression on him. Yvette was silent for a moment before she suggested, “I’ll contact him.”
“Can you?” Kiki knew how much Yvette disliked Tristan.
“I’ll contact him on your behalf. I’ll tell him you’re very worried about your son.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up the phone, Yvette immediately transferred some money to Kiki to help her out of her current situation. Then, she dialed Tristan’s number.
It was already 9:00 pm. Ever since Zachary had been brought to Bay Villa, he hadn’t eaten or drunk anything and refused to plead for mercy. He had an attitude that seemed to say, “If you have the guts, starve me to death.”
The nanny couldn’t bear seeing this. “Mr. Shaw, the child is still young. It takes time to teach him.”
“A day without food won’t kill him,” Tristan replied, wanting to see how long Zachary could hold out. The nanny had no choice but to leave.
Tristan’s phone began to ring then.
He picked up the call. “Yeah?”
“It’s Yvette.”
Tristan immediately stood up from the couch, his gaze drifting toward the children’s room where Zachary was.
“Kiki wants me to tell you that the child isn’t yours. If you don’t believe it, you can get a paternity test,” Yvette said directly. As she was planning to leave Tirion with Noah and Zachary soon, she didn’t want any complications.
