Chapter 82
Emery and I sat in the living room having breakfast. She wasn’t home when I arrived at three in the morning but she was home when I woke up.
“Meet anyone interesting last night?” I teased.
She eyed me dangerously. “I’m never going clubbing again.”
“I’ll take that as a yes, I wiggled my brow.
A knock came at the door and Emery stood.
“I’ll get it!”
She yanked the door open and gasped,
“Kade, I mean Kaden Sanders… Alpha Kade?”
Kade leaned against the door.
“Hi!” I stood nervously. “What are you doing here?”
“We spoke about me coming over last night, remember?”
Emery glared at me. “Aha! I told you he would come for you. I should have put money on it.”
I cupped my eyes and shook my head.
“I’ll go for a walk… a long way.”
Kade slipped in and Emery slipped out.
Kade cupped my cheeks and stared at me. “Are you alright? Anything hurt? The tree was rough.”
I blushed. “Kade… I can heal now, remember?”
He laughed. “Right.”
“I’m not delicate anymore.”
“Baby, you’ve never been delicate. You couldn’t heal like me but you are as hard as they come.”
1still had to give Alex a respond. My heart already made the choice last night when Kade reappeared. I sat on the couch and exhaled.
“I’m sorry for rejecting you, mate. I didn’t want to. That was the first hardest thing I’ve ever done.”
He picked up my hand and stroked it. “I’m leaving today and I want you to come with me. If you want
10.
“Oh where are unu eming?”

“New York. I bought a condo.”
I blinked a few times. “But your pack you can’t live so far away.”
He smirked. “Says who?”
Good question.
“You want me to come with you?”
He nodded firmly. “I might have gone ahead of myself but I bought the place for us. It’s in our name. I’ll manage the pack from a distance that way we can be together.”
New York? I’d barely left my pack a year ago and now I was going so far away. I couldn’t contain my excitement and giggled.
“Oh Kade…
He picked me up and put me on his lap.
Will you be
my Luna?”
Was he crazy?
“Of course I will!”
He kissed me hard.
“I warn you babe. I’ll keep you locked in our room our first week there. We’ll make endless love.”
I laughed. “Are you at least going to feed me?”
“I might.”
I needed to pack and say goodbye to Emery. Kade wanted to leave before it was dark so I didn’t have a
lot of time.
As I packed my belongings I couldn’t believe my life turned again. The possibilities were endless now. Though, my deadline with Alex passed. He would think I rejected him. I wanted him to know I loved him like a best friend. He would never be erased from my heart.
I did the next best thing. Poured out my emotions in a letter I asked Emery to give him.
“Promise you’ll call or text?” Emery asked, teary eyed.
I rolled my eyes playfully. “Yes, Emery. I’m not going to die, you know.”
“I know it’s just I’m so happy I love happy endings. Unless this isn’t the end though.”
I laughed. “Yes it is.” I hoped so.
“Kade’s waiting in the car.”

I gave her a tight squeeze and dragged my suitcase down the rickety old stairs.
Kade’s white truck idled on the curb.
“Ready?” He asked.
“As I’ll ever be!”
He leaned over the console and kissed me.
“We’re going to have a great life and anyone who as much as looks at my mate funny will have to deal with me.
“I’m looking forward to every second of it. Thanks…”
“For what?” He raised his brow,
“For coming back for me.”
His lips dipped in a sorrowful curve. “Baby, my heart never left you. That night I rejected you. Was the hardest I’ve ever lived. It was like ripping my flesh and soul apart. No one understood what I was going through.”
“I felt the same. I didn’t have a wolf to mourn with.”
He stroked my hair and brushed my bottom lip.
Our bonds stronger now and it’s even more beautiful,” Kade said.
He kissed me again more possessively.
I felt his love and it made me stronger. This time there was no Harlow and overbearing parents it was just us and that was all that mattered.
