Chapter 75
Gabbie’s Perspective Part Two
“Do you have a thing for forests?” I asked.
He shrugged. “Been running through the woods since I could walk.”
Of course, he had. The violent wind felt like a bad omen but despite the scent of danger in the wind the whole truth needed to see the light and breathe again
“I know you’re a Hunter,” I blurted.
He gave me a firm nod.
“Now that Aiden knows things are complicated for Kade and me.”
“It worked for your Mother and me,” he said.

He stuck his long knife into the ground and settled on a rock.
“Hunting is in our blood. That’s why it comes so naturally, you might have noticed.”
I scratched the back of my head, remembering the first time I had to defend myself from a wolf here. My environment came alive. I knew what I could use against it without panicking.
“I met Anya first. She hated her family for being born a human while her sister was the strongest females wolf in her whole pack.” A smile lit up his face.
“Anya came to me to learn how to be a Hunter. She was a quick learner but things went wrong somewhere along the way. Adriana found us but instead of killing me like she should have….” he sighed and rubbed his face. “It had nothing to do with fate we just fell in love. I fell in love with something I’d been trained to kill.”
“How did…Anya take it?”
“She was livid. She thought her sister took something that belonged to her once again. I never loved. Anya though. She was student and that’s something she didn’t understand. So she told her parents and I was separated from your Mom and the Sanders pack put a hit on me.”
“Did you say Sanders pack?!” I gasped.
He ground his teeth and nodded. “Those dogs came after me but I chopped them down one after another.” He kicked the ground as is reliving the battle. “I went back for my wife.”
I swallowed. What would they have done to her if Dad hadn’t gone back? Sent her far away to keep her from Dad? Beat her? Hurt her until she gave in?
“Adriana was stubborn she fought her parents. She wasn’t going to give up on us marry Sanders Alpha heir..
My heart squeezed. “You mean she was going to marry Kade’s Dad?” My voice came out in a mouse

tone.
“Adriana was the only Alpha female in the pack it was only natural.”
Sanders pack was power hungry.
“Is that why you have beef with him?” I asked.
“No… when you were two they came after us again.” He shut his eyes and sighed heavily. “We got separated… my wife was killed by Sanders wolves. Ordered by Alpha Aiden.”
My heart fell from a mantle and shattered into a million pieces.
I couldn’t stand anymore and the rock Dad sat on was the only logical seat. My throat thickened and I couldn’t get a word out.
“I had to do what was best for you so I tracked down Anya, and blackmailed her into being your Mom. You needed a family that was the least I could give you.”
“I never suspected a thing… she never treated me like I wasn’t hers.”
“I guess she wasn’t all bad.” He shrugged. “If you ever want to know what your Mom looks like just look in the mirror. I’m dumbfounded every time.”
I rested my head on Dad’s shoulder and pondered everything he told me. Kaden had nothing to do
his Dad’s deeds but this had new baring over my life. I was originally from Sanders pack but that didn’t mean they would accept me as their Luna. I was still weak in their eyes. I wasn’t worth anything other than being a servant. Omegas weren’t supposed to be seen and that’s how it was supposed to be.
“Dad… do you think she’d be disappointed that I’m wolf–less?”
“Uh… no. You being wolf–less is my fault.”
I straightened up and stared at him. “What now?”
“If I hadn’t you would have been a rabid hybrid by now.”
“What?” I gasped.
“Your wolf came early. By six you were showing signs. When wolves mate with other creatures the goddess punishes their kids by cursing them. I detached your wolf but I couldn’t kill it. It was too powerful.”

I stood quickly. Now it made sense. Why Kade thought the wild wolf smelled like me why I thought it felt familiar. That’s my wolf! I have a wolf and it’s roaming around seeking blood and destroying things.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” I gasped. “I’m cursed too?”
“Not anymore I removed your wolf. That thing roaming around can only be killed by you or else it will kill you that’s why it’s here. It wants you because it’s a part of you,

officially dead.
“I’m going to survey the area. It’s been quiet but I know it’s out there. You should get inside.”
“Wait! You haven’t told me why you left.”
He groaned. “My job. After a certain time, your job catches up to you. The wolves you’ve done deals with start hunting you to keep their secrets safe. Those are the rules of the game. I accepted before I met your Mom.”
“You’ve worked with Alex’s Dad?” I gasped.
“And Kade’s Father and many more wolves but that’s a story for another day, sweetheart.”
Sleep evaded me all night. The dorm was quiet but my throats screamed loud and my desire to see Kade screamed louder. I wrapped my arms around my legs and wondered what he was doing. His battle was in a few hours when I thought about Alex and Kade fighting my anxiety levels skyrocketed.
I climbed out of bed and wandered out of the dorm. The quarters were quiet. No one would know I left. The second I got out into the cool morning air I was lured away from the quarters. Beckoned to the woods I stopped abruptly when I realized I could be walking into a fight with a wild wolf who wanted to kill me!
Then I saw a tall imposing figure partly hidden in the morning mist. He wasn’t a dangerous wolf.
“Gabbie,” the figure called.
His upper half was naked when I got closer I realized he was naked.
“What are you doing out here this early?” Kade asked.
I rubbed my arms. “I could ask you the same thing.
“Went for a run.”
He settled on the ground and spread his limbs out on the grass.
“Shouldn’t you be resting for your battle?” I asked.
“I don’t care about it anymore. I don’t give a shit about anything anymore.”
“Kade…”
“No! I’m a dick I don’t deserve you.”
“Don’t say that.” I squeezed his thigh and shook.
“I lied to you and kept secrets. I only thought about myself.”
“Is that all this is about? You spoke to your Dad didn’t you?”
3/4
He nodded. “He gave me a version of how your Mother was accidently killed by Sanders wolves. He couldn’t get over her choosing a Hunter over him. He sent wolves to get her back.”
“That has nothing to do with you. Or are you looking for an excuse to leave me?” A lump formed in my throat.
He sat up and grabbed my face. “I don’t want to leave you. Everything isn’t fair.”
I shrugged. “Don’t give out on me now, Kade. You’re big bad Kaden Sanders and you’re going to crush it tomorrow.”
He chuckled. “Come here, beautiful.”
I kissed him and palmed him back to the ground. I planted my hands on his chest and straddled him. Kade reached over, grabbed my hoodie and pulled it over my head to reveal a simple string white top with my new necklace dangling around my neck.
I moved my hips forward, grinding on his cock. Kade moaned and tugged on my shorts
“Take them off,” he ordered.
“Yes. Alpha.”
I skilfully slipped out of my shorts without having to stand. Kade lifted me slightly and lifted his erect member. He lowered me on his cock. I moaned as he filled me up. He slapped my ass and I began a fast grind on him. Kade gripped my waist but allowed me to have control.
He shut his eyes and moaned sensually as I did all the work. The look of satisfaction gave me immense glee.
Kade found my nipples and squeezed. He massaged each breast, beckoning an orgasm and forcing me to increase my pace.
“Fuck, baby,” Kade grunted.
He dug his nails into my breasts. I cried out as an orgasm hit me like a fret train. Kade lifted me up just as his load exploded on my stomach and thighs. The sun blazed mercilessly in the sky after that reminding us of the semi–finals of Battle season were upon us.
I’d have to watch my mate and best friend go blow to blow. I wasn’t prepared to lose either one of
them.
