Chapter 38 Hayley was still upstairs. She was startled by the sounds of a fight breaking out downstairs. She wasn’t sure what was happening. All she could hear were footsteps and rallying cries. These made her tremble in fear. She tried her very best and finally managed to untie the rope on her hands. Next, she tore away the black tape that was over her mouth. She also untied the rope around her legs. She was free from bondage. Yet, she didn’t dare to leave the room. There seemed to be people everywhere, both upstairs and downstairs. She could smell the metallic smell of blood. Her room was the only place where there was no one else but her. However, she was terrified. She couldn’t find her cell phone either. She looked around the room. The only place where she could hide in this room was in the closet that was by the bed. Despite it having a transparent glass door, she went to hide in there. She hid herself behind the clothes that were hanging in the closet. She planned to wait until it quietened outside. Then, she would make her escape. It was pitch black in the closet. The killings were still happening outside. Hayley had never experienced anything like this. She was scared out of her wits. To her surprise, she thought of Wyatt at this moment. For some reason unbeknownst to her, he was the person whom she wished to see right now. She even dreamed about him making a sudden appearance to take her away from this dangerous place. But, where was he? Even if she knew where he was and was able to contact him, would he come to save her? After all, she was the one who pushed him away mercilessly… She was now in this strange and terrifying place. Suddenly, she wondered if she had made a mistake. She started to think back to the days when she was with Wyatt. She had said that she craved chicken wings in the middle of the night. He put on his clothes and ventured more than ten blocks down to buy them for her. When she fell sick, he stayed by her side all night to care for her. He was such a good calligrapher. Yet, he was willing to be a handyman at her company. He worked hard without complaining. He was even willing to be at the beck and call of their new interns.  There was once when she was attending to an important client. That client started to get touchy with her. Wyatt happened to witness it when he brought some water over. He was someone who was usually submissive when he was at the office. Even so, he swung his fist at the Chapter 38 client, leaving him bleeding and injured. After that, she actually blamed him. She even made him move back to Elmswood Mansion for half a month. 2/2 Half a month later, all she did was utter a word. Then, he was back to her side with a smile on his face… On the day when he found out that she was pregnant with his child, in particular, he was so excited that he couldn’t sleep for an entire day. He made clothings for their daughter and bought all kinds of toys for her… He always had a smile on his face. He was as joyful as a child. Even when he was interacting with her family members, he was always submissive to them. Every day, he anticipated the arrival of their daughter. But, she told him that their daughter was gone. She said that she had gotten an abortion… She was so cruel to him! Suddenly, Hayley started to cry. She felt that she was the one who brought these upon herself. Weston was absolutely shocked to see Brantley and Kaplan lying on the floor. The Seven Deadly Blades were with him. Both Brantley and Kaplan were fighters who had cultivated internal energy. They were his finest fighters. He couldn’t believe that they weren’t a match for Wyatt. Right at this moment, three other individuals stepped forward. To the left was a male and female pairing. To the right was a white shirted man with a sharp nose. “The male and female pair are sharpshooters. They have good teamwork. They were already infamous assassins in the underworld before they sided with Weston. “The one on the right is called Warner Hunt. He is ranked third among the Seven Deadly Blades. He is also a martial arts specialist. He’s more skilled than Agents Six and Seven,” Ann whispered in Wyatt’s ear. Shots were fired! The shooters fired six consecutive shots. Two shots were fired at Wyatt’s vital points. The other four shots were to prevent him from dodging. At the same time, Warner launched himself at Wyatt with an explosion of energy.
