Chapter 553 Dealing With Lysanne

Lysanne didn’t even dare to glance down at the cement ground below the building, let alone consider jumping. She immediately shot an angry look at the crowd of onlookers.
Carol, accompanied by a few bodyguards dressed in black, walked over with a steady stride.
Lysanne recognized her, her expression immediately shifting into an awkward one. “W–What did you just say? How could you incite someone to their death like that?”
This statement successfully sparked a discussion among the others.
A mysterious glint flashed in Carol’s eyes.
“Ms. Thorne, you’re not even a biological daughter of the Thorne family. They’ve taken care of you for twenty years, provided for your every need, and even sent you abroad for your studies. They’ve given you everything you’ve asked for. Isn’t that enough to show their kindness? Not only did you almost kill their biological daughter, but you also demanded half of their fortune. They’ve shown enough mercy by not sending you to prison, and yet you’re planning to harm your foster mother?”
Gossip was a part of human nature. As soon as these words fell, the gaze of the onlookers toward Lysanne changed. They were surprised that she had made so much noise, yet she conveniently left out her own misdeeds.
Lysanne’s face flushed and paled intermittently, feeling somewhat embarrassed. Yet, thinking of the thing Lysander was about to receive, she swallowed her pride and continued to make a scene.
The ward had not been quiet for long before it once again erupted into chaos.
Carol let her cry and make a fuss, only saying to Howard and Molly, whose faces were ashen with anger, “Mr. Howard, Mdm. Molly, Mr. Guerra has asked me to handle Ms. Thorne.”
Howard gave a nod. “It’s fortunate that Josiah sent you here. Listen to Josiah’s advice and handle things the way he instructed you to.”
“All right, I understand. Mr. Howard, Mdm. Molly, do you have anything else to say to her?”
“There’s one last thing. Howard said, his heartache numbing him to the core. He spoke on behalf of Molly, who was on the verge of passing out from rage. Looking toward the window, he continued, “It’s because we’ve been too indulgent with you that you’ve become like this. From now on, we will have nothing more to do with you.”
Lysanne hadn’t expected him to say such a thing, finally showing her vulnerability. “Dad, Mom, you’re being too harsh. Are you really going to stand by and watch me suffer?”
Howard withdrew his gaze, shaking his head incessantly. “When you pushed Lysa into the fire, didn’t you also just stand there and watch her die?”
irrevocable.
As he spoke those words, he tightened his grip on his wife’s hand, signifying his decision was
Carol discerned their attitudes and subtly signaled the bodyguards behind her.
Quickly, a shrill scream echoed out. “Who are you? By what right do you lay hands on me? Let go of me! Do you know who I am? I am the woman most loved by Josiah, the CEO of Guerra Group! If you dare

Josiah held his phone, listening to the report from Carol. “Mr. Guerra, she kept pulling at Mdm. Molly’s hair and wouldn’t let go. The bodyguards didn’t dare to pull too hard. They had no choice but to knock her
OUL
“Did she actually pull Mdm. Molly’s hair?”
“Yes,” Carol said. “I’m not sure who taught her, but if she had been grabbing arms or legs, the bodyguards would have dragged her away immediately. However, she was pulling Mdm. Molly’s hair. Out of concern for Mdm. Molly’s wellbeing, the bodyguards truly didn’t dare to intervene.”
Gradually, a name had begun to appear in Josiah’s mind.
“Mr. Guerra, we’ve already brought Ms. Thorne out. What’s our next move?”
Josiah tugged at the corner of his mouth, a chilling glint flashing in his eyes. “Just proceed as I’ve instructed you previously. It’s about time some matters are brought to an end.”
On the other end of the phone, Carol also felt a sense of relief, as if finally something was set in motion. “Yes, I’ll take care of it right away,” she responded.
The excitement had faded, and without anyone needing to utter a single word of persuasion, everyone else had dispersed, leaving the place empty.
The ward had finally become peaceful.
The caregiver began tidying up the mess that Lysanne had created during her tantrum.
Carol approached with concern to inquire about Molly’s condition. “Mrs. Thorne, how are you feeling? Should we summon the doctor?”
“No need. I’m fine.” Molly managed to wave her hand. A thick clump fell out when she ran her fingers through her hair.
Howard’s face aged several years in an instant when he saw that.
After the commotion caused by Lysanne, it seemed Molly would have to start the slow process of recovery all over again. Prior to that, she had barely managed to regain some of her health.
Seeing his wife in such a state, Howard felt utterly disheartened. Despite this, he managed to muster the strength to express his gratitude to Carol. “Thank you”
“Mr. Guerra was worried, so he instructed me to bring some people over to check things out,” Carol explained. Seeing that there wasn’t any serious issue, she rose to her feet and prepared to leave. “You all take a good rest. I’ll take my leave now.”
Howard hesitated before standing up and taking several steps toward the door.
Carol paused in the hallway and asked, “Do you have any more questions?”
Howard heaved a long sigh. “What does Josiah plan to do with her?”
Carol appeared with a pleasant demeanor. “Mr. Howard, you can rest assured. Mr. Guerra is someone who
knows his limits.”

Given the circumstances, Howard decided not to interfere any longer. He turned around and returned to the ward to accompany his wife.
When Carol left the inpatient department, Lysanne had already been confined in the car. She was seated between two bodyguards, who were on high alert in case she woke up and started causing a tommotion again.
“Is she still unconscious?” Carol asked.
“Yes,” the bodyguard reported. “Considering she’s a woman, I didn’t hit her too hard. I reckon she’ll wake
up soon.”
Carol let out a cold chuckle and ordered the driver in a straightforward manner, “Drive.”
After the vehicle left the hospital, the chosen route became increasingly secluded. Not only was there scarce traffic, but there were also hardly any surveillance cameras to be found along the way.
This place was perfect for things to happen without anyone knowing.
Lysanne slowly came to her senses and abruptly sat up. “Where am I? Where are you taking me?”
Carol’s face fell. She said coldly, “Jaws of death.”
Lysanne immediately recoiled in fear, but it was too late, She knew that Carol was a close associate of Josiah. Changing her tactics, she continued to make a fuss, putting on a brave front while threatening the other party.
“If I were to go missing, someone would definitely come looking for me. I’m quite close with Tiffany from the Lanister family. She knew I was at the hospital. She usually refers to me as her best friend all the time. This little girl is quite naive. If she couldn’t find me, she might go straight to the police, which could cause trouble for Josiah!”
Lysanne couldn’t help but feel a secret surge of joy. Luckily, I was smart enough to secure Tiffany as my lifesaver in advance. Being Josiah’s fiancée does have its advantages, after all.
Upon hearing this, Carol finally managed to shift her gaze from the phone where she was updating work progress. She then simply said, “It’s too noisy in the car. Get her to quiet down.”
No sooner had the words been spoken than the bodyguard swiftly placed a handkerchief, soaked in ether, over Lysanne’s mouth and nose.
“Help” Lysanne wanted to mention Tiffany again, but her consciousness had already begun to blur, and her eyelids became too heavy to keep open.
Lysanne was unwilling to simply fall asleep like this. She was afraid that she might not get another chance to open her eyes.
However, the effects of the ether kicked in rapidly.
In a state of half–sleep, Lysanne only heard Carol’s voice giving instructions to the driver.
“Drive a bit faster, will you? Once we’ve dealt with her, we can finally head back,” Carol said.
