The Charming Ex–Wife
Chapter 517 Lysander Is Unwell
Suddenly, someone touched her arm.
She turned to meet Daphne’s gaze, which was filled with surprise and disbelief.
Smiling, she nodded at her friend to indicate she had noticed it too.
Having learned from their experiences, of course they grasped the situation upon seeing the look in Tiffany’s eyes.
Daphne muttered under her breath, “What a troublemaker.”
“Ms. Thorne, why aren’t you saying anything?” Tiffany asked.
Before Lysander could even speak, Josiah interrupted her with a frown, “This matter has nothing to do with Lysander.”

“Hmm, you’re right. It’s essentially a personal matter between you arld Lyss. I shouldn’t get Ms. Thorne involved.”
Lysander chuckled and took a step toward Lysanne. “It actually has something to do with me. Ms. Lysanne, you came today to meet Mr. Guerra today because you want him to play the role of a fair judge and have him distribute the Thorne family’s property, is that correct?”
The hatred in Lysanne’s eyes was palpable. “Dad is old, and mom is bedridden. Moreover, Josiah has always been the one managing Thorne Constructions and Energies‘ affairs.”
“Like you said, Mr. Guerra is just managing it on behalf of Howard and Molly. The company’s still their personal property. Mr. Guerra doesn’t have the authority to make decisions for them,” Lysander explained.
Lysanne took a deep breath, casting a resentful look at her. “Even now, you’re still addressing him formally as ‘Mr. Guerra‘ See, Josiah? She has no intention of being devoted to you. She’s only working with you to claim the Thorne family’s wealth and use your connections and power. Dr. Thorne here has always been a very rational person. She knows what the best choice for herself. Your efforts have only ever been one- sided!
“Why are you wasting your time talking to her?” Josiah walked over with Aurora and took Lysander’s hand. “Let’s go back.”
“Hold on, I’m not finished speaking.”
Lysander turned around and addressed her, “If I were you, I’d take the millions that Howard gave you and either continue living a lavish lifestyle abroad or settle down peacefully here in the country. You said it yourself your parents have raised you for so many years, so they wouldn’t abandon you if you were in trouble. Mr. Guerra would also consider the long–standing relationship between our families and wouldn’t harm you. This would be the best outcome for you. But if you insist on being insatiable and péstering us relentlessly…
Lysander glanced at Tiffany, her voice icy as she continued, “You’d be the first to die.”
“The best outcome? You took everything from me. What right do you have to tell me to accept my fate? I can tell Josiah is on your side now. Fine. I’ll go to the hospital to talk to Dad and Mom. They love me dearly, and I’m sure they won’t-

“Lysander, are you okay?” Dapline swiftly rushed over to support her friend, who was staggering. “What’s wrong? Why is your face so pale?”
Hearing that. Josiah approached with a solemn expression to check on her. “What happened?”
Lysander wasn’t quite sure either.
She suddenly felt a wave of dizziness, her vision blurring.
Lysanne sneered. “You’re faking it; huh? Such a clichéd trick seems beneath you, Dr. Thorne. Why would you resort to faking an illness?”
After observing attentively for a while, Tiffany hesitantly asked, “Ms. Thorne, are you all right?”
Lysander glanced at Tiffany, detecting a hint of doubt in the latter’s eyes.
Does she think I’m faking it to gain sympathy, tool
Lysander couldn’t help curling her lips into a smirk. “I’m fine. Must’ve been low blood sugar.”
Daphne asked, “Have you had breakfast this morning?”
“She didn’t eat much and just had some milk. I guess she’s exhausted from looking after the baby.” Josiah handed Aurora to Daphne. “Ms. Everhart, could you please hold her?”
Daphne panicked as if she were holding a ticking time bomb, her entire body stiffening. “Hey, wait! I can’t do this! I don’t know how!”
Lysander shut her eyes, waiting for the dizziness to pass when suddenly, she found herself lifted off the ground.
“I’ll take you back to your room to rest and have someone bring you some food,” said Josiah.
Standing was unbearable enough for Lysander/so when Josiah suddenly hoisted her up in his arms, a wave of nausea surged within her. She managed to hold it back and gave Josiah a weak push. “Put me down. I feel like I’m going to throw up…”
No sooner had her feet touched the ground than she turned her head and threw. up.
Josiah was startled. Patting her back to ease her discomfort, he asked, “You were fine this morning. Why are you suddenly unwell?”
Holding the child, Daphne was too scared to move a muscle but was still worried. “Lysander, are you okay?”
Lysander took the tissue handed over by Josiah, wiped her mouth, and shook her head. “I don’t know either.”
Tiffany blinked. “But aren’t you a doctor? Can’t you diagnose your condition yourself?”
Lysanne wore a look of disdain, standing aside. “Of course she can’t diagnose it. What is she going to say, that she’s faking it?”
*Shut up!” Josiah sternly interrupted her.

Lysanne said resentfully. “She’s a doctor. Faking an illness is a walk in the park for her. Oh, forget it. It seems like no matter what I say now, you won’t believe me.”
Right then, another unbearable wave of nausea surged within Lysander, causing her to vomit again. She had barely eaten anything in the morning and ended up throwing up bile.
Tiffany murmured. “Ms. Thorne, are you really not feeling well?”
Lysander took a deep breath and forced a smile. “Yes. I’m sorry for disrupting your plans, Ms. Lanister.”
Tiffany was taken aback for a moment, but she quickly hid her surprise, maintaining her innocent and adorable facade. “It’s okay. I don’t have anything urgent going on anyway. Your health is what’s most important.”
Lysander withdrew her gaze and looked at Josiah, who was supporting her.
He seemed to be looking at Tiffany, too, wearing a pensive frown.
“Mr. Guerra,” Lysander called out.
Regaining his senses, Josiah responded, “Yes?”
“Do me a favor..
“Sure. What is it?”
“Get me a few waitresses to help me back to my room.”
Josiah frowned, clearly upset. “Really? Even at this point, you still don’t want me to touch you?”
As he spoke, he moved to carry her again.
Lysander quickly rejected. “No, I’m fine standing, but being carried sideways makes me extremely
nauseous.”
Josiah grabbed her hands and placed them on his shoulder, lifting her by the waist and carrying her vertically.
Lysander rested her head on his shoulder, the subtle scent of citrus from his body filling her senses.
“Is this better?” he asked.
“Yes.” Lysander spoke after a moment of hesitation.
Josiah turned to Daphne and instructed, “Ms. Everhart, could you please look after the child for a while? If you don’t know how, just go to the front desk and mention my name. They will assist you.”
Daphne nodded. “Can you manage? If not, you can watch over the child while I take care of Lysander.”
“Would you be able to carry her back?”
Daphne was at a loss for words, for she couldn’t.
Before leaving, Josiah cast another glance at Tiffany, his gaze inquisitive.

Seemingly trying to mend the situation, Tillany asked, “Jose, do you need my help?”
“No.” Josiah’s gaze turned cold as he said, “When your father arrives, ask him to wait for me. It’s about time I discuss the cancellation of our engagement with him.”
