Chapter 492 The Bite Mark On Josiah
Having somewhat understood Lysander’s encouragement, Tiffany took the initiative to speak to Josiah, who had been silent for a while. “Jose, you should go back and handle your work first. I’ll take good care of Lysa here.”
Josiah didn’t take it seriously as he assumed it was just a polite remark taught by Dillon. “Do you know how to take care of a patient?” Josiah asked.
“I know! I also know how to get food, fetch water…”
Tiffany froze after listing just two tasks. She instinctively glanced at Lysander for help.
Josiah calmly continued, “You’ll also have to take the patient’s temperature, monitor the IV drip, and when the doctors and nurses arrive, it’s your job to press the call button. It’s pretty tedious. I appreciate your father’s good intentions, but I’d feel more at case staying here myself.”
Tiffany listened earnestly. Her initial confidence vanished, but she asked, “But Jose, you’re a man. Isn’t it inconvenient for you to take care of Lysa?”
Josiah was speechless.
Lysander quickly chimed in. “Absolutely, Mr. Guerra. Ms. Lanister is right. I’m very grateful you brought me to the hospital despite your busy schedule. I won’t take up any more of your time. I can manage on my

own.”
Josiah looked at her with an amused expression.
Lysander met his gaze calmly.
Tiffany was probably the only one who didn’t grasp the current situation. She was still trying to smooth things over, saying, “Lysa, there’s no need for formalities. Jose is a kind person. Even if it were a stranger, he would take them to the hospital.”
Josiah merely replied, “I’m not exactly that free.”
Tiffany, not expecting him to contradict her so bluntly, paused before adding, “Well, when he’s busy, he doesn’t have time. But since we came together, Jose will definitely take care of you.”
At that moment, Josiah’s cell phone buzzed.
After glancing at it briefly, he hung up and casually slipped his phone into his pocket, seemingly unbothered as he watched the liquid drip from the IV bag.
Tiffany asked, “Jose, is that my dad?”
“No.” He looked up at the IV drip stand and said to Lysander, “This one’s almost empty. There’s another bag of glucose after this, but you’ll need to flush the line in between. I reckon it’ll take over an hour more.”
As he was speaking, his phone buzzed again.
With a sigh, Lysander suggested, “Mr. Guerra, you should probably take that call first.”
When Josiah glanced at the caller ID, his expression became serious. “I’ll be right back after taking this

Lysander nodded.
“Tiffany, I’ll have to trouble you to look after Lysander,” Josial said.
Tiffany nodded obediently. “Don’t worry, Jose. I’ll take good care of Lysa.
Josiah’s attempt to use this as an opportunity to get rid of Tiffany failed. Responding with a slight nod, he then turned to Lysander and asked, “Is there anything else you need me to bring over?”
Lysander shook her head. “No, thank you, Mr. Guerra.”
Once Josiah left, only Tiffany remained in the room to accompany Lysander.
The difference in the life experiences of the two women was much greater than the difference in their ages. Being in the same room made Lysander feel as if she had gone back to two years ago when she first started mentoring Lynn
Back then, when Lynn had just graduated from university, she was nothing more than a naive and clueless graduate.
When she first arrived, she was a bit intimidated by Lysander. However, it got better as they got to know each other better. Lysander eventually discovered that Lynn was actually quite the eccentric character.
Reflecting on the grand promises she had made in front of Josiah, Tiffany strived to do well in taking care of Lysander. “Lysa, would you like some more porridge?”
“No need. I’m not hungry right now. Thanks though.”
Tiffany glanced at the cup and asked again, “Shall I pour you some water then?”
Somewhat amused and exasperated, Lysander replied, “I’m not thirsty. Please, take a seat. I don’t need anything else. You can just sit down.”
“How about I tell you a joke?” Tiffany offered again.
“Sure.”
Tiffany was about to tell a joke when the door to the ward was pushed open again. It was the medical worker making rounds.
The doctor picked up the record book hanging at the foot of the bed and asked, “Did you have your temperature taken yesterday?”
The timing of Josiah’s departure was truly unfortunate.
Lysander had slept from the day before, so she had no idea if her temperature had been taken.
Fortunately, it should have been noted in the record book. The doctor flipped through it and nodded. “Yes, your temperature has stabilized, but the inflammation is still present. We’ll have to administer fluids to you for a few more days.”
Josiah did tell her that she had to be hospitalized for seven more days.
The doctor glanced at the IV drip once more before asking, “Is this your sister or your sister–in–law? Where’s your husband? Did he step out?”

Lysander quickly waved her hand. “No, it’s not like that…”
“Doctor, you’re mistaken. The man who was here carlier isn’t Lysa’s husband. They are just acquaintances who aren’t very close.”
A hint of surprise flashed across the doctor’s eyes. “If he’s not your husband, why was he wiping you down to reduce your fever last night?”
Oh no.
Lysander had no idea about that at all.
She was still wearing her own clothes and hadn’t changed into a hospital gown. Who would have thought…
Tiffany was also puzzled. “Wipe her down?”
Lysander said, “Maybe he just wiped my hands. Using alcohol to wipe the palms can count as a form of physical cooling.”
“Oh, I see.”
“That’s not it.” the doctor continued, “He must have wiped you down. He went to the pantry several times to get hot water. The pantry is right next to the nurse’s station, I’ve seen him making quite a few trips there. Just wiping your hands wouldn’t use that much water, would it?”
Lysander didn’t know what to say,
Tiffany stood there, mouth agape.
The doctor, realizing the potential misunderstanding, quickly added, “Look, I didn’t actually see him wiping your body. He might have just thought the air in the room was too dry. Hospitals don’t have humidifiers, so he could have been using hot water to humidify the air… Anyway, take care and call if you need anything. I have other patients to check on, so I’ll be on my way.”
After the doctor left, Tiffany turned to look at Lysander, looking somewhat bewildered.
Lysander said, “The air at Apex City is quite dry, and Mr. Guerra is a meticulous
Tiffany opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, but she hesitated.
She seemed to be holding onto a big secret.

person.
Suddenly, Tiffany’s face turned bright red. “Lysa, please don’t be upset about what I’m about to tell you.”
This piqued Lysander’s curiosity. “What is it?”
“Perhaps Jose didn’t bring you to the hospital specifically. I suspect… he brought you here because it was convenient for him.”
“What do you mean?”
Tiffany leaned in and whispered, “Do you remember I told you that Jose has someone truly special in his heart?”

“Yes.”
“I think I’ve seen that woman, Tiffany whispered, discreetly pointing toward the adjacent room, “When I first arrived, I saw a girl in the room next door. She seemed vaguely familiar at first, but after hearing what the doctor said, I remembered who she was. She spoke at the summit yesterday!”
This time, it was Lysander’s turn to be confused.
Tiffany continued excitedly. “It must be her! I always wondered why Jose decided to come all the way here suddenly when he hadn’t attended the summit for years. He must have had a reason! I noticed her when she spoke yesterday. She’s both beautiful and formidable. That’s just the type that Jose likes!”
“How do you know?”
“Because she’s just like Lyss!”
“Well… This is merely a speculation. Let’s not discuss this matter further. If we’re wrong, we may cause innecessary distress to the lady.”
Let me share another secret with you.” Tiffany leaned in closer and whispered, “When Jose left just now, I noticed a bite mark on his neck. It was definitely left by a woman.”
