Chapter 480 Pretentious Person
Tiffany approached. “What did Lysa ask you to tell me?”
Lysander was on the verge of losing her patience, “Can you please be mindful of the situation, Josiah?”
Josiah’s laughter grew even louder. “Wasn’t it you who urged me to speak up?”
Lysander was speechlesss
“All right, my relationship with Tiffany isn’t what you’re imagining. I’ll find time to explain it to you in
detail.”
Lysander hung up the phone immediately. I shouldn’t have called him!

Tiffany was still puzzled. “Jose, did lysa hang up the phone?”
“She did,” said Josiah
“What happened? She hung up so abruptly. Is she mad? It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have bothered you to seek help from Lysa last night. She’s ill, and yet we disturbed her rest.
“It’s not that serious, Josiah said softly. “She is quite understanding, and I’m certain she’s not mad at you.”
Then who was she angry at?”
Josiah put away the phone. “It’s probably her husband.”
Tiffany’s mouth hung open in surprise. “Lysa is already married?”
“She was married, yes.”
“Lysa really is quite the enigmatic woman.”
With a smile he couldn’t suppress, Josiah said, “Let’s go. It’s time to eat.”
He had barely taken two steps when he sneezed.
Despite swiftly turning his head and covering his mouth and nose, he was still in a restaurant, so many people turned to look.
With a hint of concern, Tiffany asked, “Jose, isn’t the hotel gym quite chilly at night? Have you caught a cold?”
“Perhaps I did catch a cold.” Josiah thought back to what Lysander had mentioned in bed the previous night. A meaningful smile graced his countenance as he responded thoughtfully, “Probably due to the recent flu season, I guess,”
His excuse was sufficient to appease the naïve Tiffany.
As expected, Tiffany didn’t press further.
After finishing their meal, Josiah and Tiffany waited for a few minutes in the lobby. Soon, they saw Lysander rushing out of the elevator in a hurry.

Time was of the essence, and Lysander couldn’t afford to fuss over her appearance. She hastily tied up her long hair, grabbed her carry–on bag, and dashed out.
Upon seeing her without a mask, Tiffany expressed her surprise, “Lysa, has your cold gotten better?”
After taking a hot bath, Lysander indeed felt much better. The symptoms of her cold had essentially
vanished.
“More or less. Didn’t you say we were running out of time? Let’s get going then,” said Lysander.
Tiffany clapped her hands. “A cold requires plenty of rest to recover. I’m sure you had a good sleep last night, Lysa.”
“It was all right.”
Josiah was standing right there, but Lysander completely ignored him as if he were nothing more than air.
Tiffany and Lysander walked out together. The former whispered, “The driver hasn’t arrived yet, though.”
Hearing that. Josiah took a few steps ahead. “Then let’s not wait. It won’t make a difference if I drive. Let’s go.”
When choosing their seats, just like the day before, Tiffany led Lysander to the back.
The passenger seat remained empty, with no one choosing to sit there.
Lysander had become much more at ease.
Through the rearview mirror, Josiah caught every subtle move of Lysander. A fleeting smile flashed across his face. As he casually adjusted his sleeve, he made an offhand remark, “Lysa, how was your rest last night? I apologize for the inconvenience of having you change rooms.”
Lysander was quite convinced that the waiting for the driver was merely a story he concocted to handle Tiffany.
When she spoke again, her tone was barely neutral. “It’s fine, really. Thanks for arranging this, Mr. Guerra”
“You’re welcome.” Josiah casually asked, maintaining his composure, “Do you have any plans for the upcoming summit, Ms. Thorne?”
From the way he addressed her, to his attitude and his tone, he seemed quite distant from Lysander. At first glance, he seemed like a gentleman who was polite. Only Lysander knew it was all an act
How have I not realized before that he is nothing but pretentious? If it weren’t for the inappropriate setting, Lysander would have rolled her eyes to the ceiling. However, at that moment, all she could do was play along. “I’m a newcomer, attending the summit for the first time this year. Of course, I’m not striving for merit, but rather to avoid mistakes and learn as much as I can.”
Josiah nodded. “Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. There are quite a few rookies at the summit, and they are all more than willing to help each other out.”
“I should probably keep my comments to a minimum. After all, I came here with you, Mr. Guerra. If I ask something foolish, it could inadvertently damage your reputation.”
You could ask me directly. We could have a private conversation where no one else could hear us. That

way, my image wouldn’t have been tarnished.”
“We’ll see.”
While the two were chatting. Tillany found herself unable to join in the conversation. Thus, she decided to mind her own business and started doing something else.
It seemed as though she had discovered something, moving in Josiah’s direction.
Lysander noticed Tiffany’s movements. An alarm bell rang in her heart as she feared the latter had noticed something amiss. “Ms. Lanister, what are you looking for?”
“It’s nothing like that.” Tiffany laughed shyly, “Lysa, I caught a whiff of a perfume. It feels familiar, like I’ve smelled it before.”
“Perfume
“I’m not entirely sure if it’s perfume. It’s a bit strange, a bit musky, and somewhat cloying… Tiffany queried. “Jose, did you use any perfume today?”
Lysander’s heart was pounding. Josiah took a shower already, and I was in a bath for quite a while. There’s no way she knows, can she? Or is it that she has an incredibly keen sense of smell?
Josiah continued to drive composedly, simultaneously speaking in his usual tone. “I didn’t use it today, but there might be some lingering on my clothes. What’s the matter?”
Tiffany seemed perplexed as she said, “I’m sure I’ve smelled this perfume somewhere before. It doesn’t seem like it’s meant for men. Even though I study art, I’ve done my fair share of research on perfumes. This scent is definitely not like any other perfume available in the market.”
As the darling daughter of the Lanister family, she led a carefree life before meeting Josjah. Her days were filled with leisurely strolls and fun outings with friends, and she even dabbled in activities like fragrance blending. With just a whiff, she could distinguish between masculine and feminine perfumes.
Lysander turned her face to gaze out the window. The events to follow were of no concern to her. I’ll let him explain himself.
Josiah drove steadily, not at all affected as he replied, “I have a friend who’s a perfumer. He enjoys concocting unique perfumes that aren’t available on the market. However, he just does it for fun or to give as gifts to friends. He’s not a big–name brand or anything.”
“I sec.” Tiffany suddenly realized something. “Jose, are you talking about Amy? I recall she seems to fancy these things.”
“No, it’s…” He glanced at the rearview mirror as if to emphasize, “It’s a male friend.”
