Chapter 77 What If I Don’t Give It To You?
Lysanne extended her hand and insisted. “You were acting strangely after looking at your phone. You were upset. There must be something you’re hiding! Give me your phone!”
He took a deep breath while suppressing his anger and stated calmly, “It’s a message from my mom. She’s unwell.”
“I don’t believe you!”
Josiah had tried to reason with Lysander, but his patience wore thin. He grabbed his things and headed straight to the living room. “You rest. I won’t be back tonight. I’ll stay at the old house.”
“Josiah, stop right there!”
He ignored her, opened the bedroom door, and closed it behind him with a bang.
Lysanne leaped out of bed and blocked the doorway with her arms. “Josiah, if you don’t show me your phone today, you can’t leave this room!”
Josiah retorted, “Are you trying to start a fight?”

“Yes, I am! You’re clearly troubled about something! We’ve been friends for over twenty years. I can tell what’s on your mind just by looking at you! You must have seen something related to that Lysander!”

“Lysanne, move aside. I need to get to work.”
“I won’t let you go to work today without explaining things clearly to me.”
“The company recently lost a major order and suffered significant financial losses. You are aware of that! If I don’t go to work, the shareholders will protest! Consequently, the stock price of Guerra Group will continue to decline!”
“What does the Guerra Group situation have to do with me? I’m not concerned,” Lysander said. “I’ll say it one final time. Hand me the phone!”
Josiah stood up straight and was reluctant to provide any further explanations. “What will happe refuse to give it to you?”

Chapter 78 Is This Your House?
“I’ll… I’ll…”
Lysanne looked around, then grabbed a ceramic ornament from the cabinet and held it against her stomach. “If you don’t show me, I’ll smash it!”
Josiah stared at her for a moment, then let out a deep breath.
“You really want to see, don’t you?”
Lysanne continued, “Yes!”
“All right.” Josiah handed her his phone. “Take a look.”
His phone was very simple.
Email, a few news apps, and WhatsApp.
Lysanne scrolled through them one by one.
The emails in his inbox were mostly correspondence with subordinates in the company, with the most from her cousin and Josiah’s current secretary, Jude Bennett.
There wasn’t much to see in the news apps, as he usually only read the finance section, and the push notifications were all finance-related news.
As for WhatsApp…
The top message was indeed from Josiah’s mother, Susan, with the nickname “Mom.”
Mom wrote, ‘Josiah, I’ve been having frequent headaches lately. What kind of medicine should I take?’
Josiah replied, ‘The cause of headaches can be complex. Let me take you to the hospital for a check- up?’
Mom wrote, ‘No need. I’ll just take some painkillers myself. It’s probably due to poor sleep recently.
Josiah wrote, ‘Mom, have you been having trouble sleeping all this time?’
Mom replied, Yes, but it’s okay. Don’t worry. Focus on your work. A lot is going on at the Guerra Group. Don’t worry about me.’
That was it.
There were only just these few messages.
Josiah asked, “Have you finished reading?”
Lysanne was somewhat satisfied, but also felt a little guilty. Nevertheless, she still held her head high
