Chapter 269 What Type
Lysander felt a chill from Josiah’s gaze.
“You are right.”
Josiah leaned in slightly. “What?”
“We got married for three years for nothing.”
Zachary was scheming. He was nearly thirty years old and still just a workhorse in the architectural design company, without gaining any substantial benefits.
If it weren’t for Josiah providing him with this golden opportunity, who knows how long it would take for him to fulfill his ambitions?
Josiah had been managing the entire Guerra Group for years. How could he possibly have a gentle and soft personality?
“Zachary was right too. Probably only a fool like me would believe you were a good person and believe it for three years. If I had known your true nature back then, I definitely wouldn’t have dared to lose my temper with you.”
Josiah chuckled softly and finally sat up straight, putting his glasses back on with one hand.
He flexed his wrist and said quietly, “You’re not a fool

He continued, “You’re very smart, but your intelligence has always been righteous. You don’t step others to climb up like Zachary and Harry. As for me, Lysander, there’s one thing I never lied to you about. During those three years, I genuinely wanted to live with you forever.”
“They say a leopard can’t change its spots. You pretended to be a warm and gentle man in front of me for three years. Wasn’t it tiring?”
“Do you like warm and gentle men?”
“Then it means you don’t like them,” Josiah said, nodding knowingly. “I’ve been wondering what type you actually like. But unfortunately, your past is too clean, leaving no reference points. But it’s fine. We’re going to spend our lives together. I don’t want to pretend anymore. Let’s be our true selves. It’ll be easier for both of us.”
Lysander didn’t let Josiah drive her to the hospital entrance.
She got out at the previous intersection and walked the rest of the way.
When she returned to her office, Adrian was sitting in her chair, reading a book.
Lysander checked the time. “It’s past office hours. Why haven’t you left?”
Adrian put down the book and stood up. “You took the afternoon off?”
“Yes, I was a bit tired and went home to rest.”

Then why did you come back?”
“I was worried about Priscilla, so I came back to check on her.”
Adrian nodded slightly. “Don’t worry. The caregivers Daphne found are very diligent, and Fred is personally overseeing things. Even if Harry and Helen show up, there’s nothing to fear.”
“What are you doing in my office?”
“Lynn had some questions about her thesis and wanted your help. You weren’t here, so she came to
me.”
“Lynn had some questions about her thesis and wanted your help. You weren’t here, so she came to
me.”
“She went to the cafeteria to get food.”
Lysander smiled. “Thanks for helping Lynn. If Priscilla is okay, I’ll head home.”
“Lysander.”
Lysander was already at the door and turned back. “What’s up?”
“Did you spray perfume?”
“No.”
Lysander was slightly startled.
he lifted her sleeve and sniffed. It was a faint citrus scent.
It was Josiah’s scent.
After she spent the whole afternoon with him,
some of his scent had transferred onto her.
“Oh, maybe my sister used an air freshener at home.”
Adrian gave a dry laugh. “Is that so?”
“Maybe. I’ll ask her when I get home. I’m leaving now
Having cleared things up with Zachary, Lysander could only walk home from now on.
Fortunately, it wasn’t far and would help dissipate the scent.
But Michelle, with her keen nose, still noticed. “Lysander, does your hospital’s alcohol smell like oranges now?”
