Chapter 231 Hoping That She Was Wrong

“I remember. He should also remember me because he won first place in the speech competition for two consecutive years, but in the third year, I beat him to it. Haha, I bet he was furious. Next time, if you see him, you mustn’t bring this up in front of him, so as not to hurt his pride.”
The more Lysander heard, the more troubled she felt.
During high school, Harperwas a carefree romantic. She can remember Zachary, yet Zachary has completely forgotten about her? Despite not remembering her, he is somehow familiar with Harry. Also, last night, his “accidental” press of the car horn attracted Josiah’s attention, and he even caressed the back of my hand in front of the latter.
A chill ran down Lysander’s spine, and she could only hope that her speculation was wrong.
The cocktail party was held in a high–end hotel owned by Guerra Group.
Daphne brought two sets of dresses. The two of them changed their clothes in the car and then walked into the venue.
“Goodness, Josiah is amazing. Everyone who came today is someone famous. The show he put on is quite real.”
In fact, Lysander never doubted Josiah’s ability to handle things, she was just worried about whether Harry had arrived or not.
Given his status, he might not necessarily be qualified to attend the cocktail party.
Nevertheless, reality soon told her that she was worried for nothing.
Soon, she spotted Harry, dressed in a suit and behaving like a poseur by the buffet table.
He obviously made an effort to look sharp, even styling his hair to what was currently fashionable. His skin. was fair and his height was decent, making him look like a boy toy.
He held a wine glass in his hand, aimlessly looking around.
Suddenly, he broke into a wide smile and quickly stepped forward. “Mr. Guerra…”
Josiah had also come, but he didn’t seem to be in as good a condition as Harry.
With reddened eye rims and some dark circles underneath, it was clear that he hadn’t gotten enough rest, looking somewhat fatigued.
Josiah didn’t want to engage him, so he turned around and walked in Lysander’s way. Suddenly, when his gaze fell on her, he was slightly taken aback.
Lysander was equally stunned. For a while, the two of them had hardly faced each other directly. The sudden eye–to–eye contact even caught her off guard.
Adding to the abruptness of the situation was the approaching Harry.
He had come chasing after Jøsiah but ended up running in Lysander and Daphne’s direction.

Daphne was busy spotting who among her acquaintances was present. Hearing Lysander’s words, she quickly did as she was told. “What’s the matter?”
“Harry is behind us.”
Just as Daphne turned her head, Lysander grabbed her. “Don’t look back.”
The voice from behind was somewhat faint and barely audible.
It was Harry passing the buck. “I only knew Lysander for a while when we were abroad. We didn’t have much interaction, and I’don’t know much about her affairs.”
Josiah didn’t look too pleased; it wasn’t clear whether he was tired or just annoyed with Harry. He frowned and asked, “What are you doing here? Does your company do business with Seamus Corporation?”
“Business doesn’t just fall from the sky; one has to take the initiative. I came today to join in the fun and see if there are any business opportunities.”
“A new director has taken office at Seamus Corporation. If you want an opportunity, you have to be able to persuade er.”
Harry chuckled. “I want to as well, but I have no access to Ms. Lora. So, I was thinking, could you possibly help introduce us?”
Josiah laughed. “Do you think I’ve nothing better to do?”
“Of course not. I just have a piece of information that I’d like to share with you, Mr. Guerra.”
