Chapter 160 When Will You Ever Stop
Both sisters on either end of the phone line fell silent.
The air seemed to freeze.
Michelle quickly said, “I’m sorry, Lysander. I’m sorry…”
“All right, hurry over here. We’re at the café right across from the cram school. Zachary has gone to get the car. It’s not easy to find a parking space here, so we’ll need to leave as soon as we’re in the car.”
“Okay, I’ll be right there.”

When Michelle hurriedly arrived, her face was still filled with guilt. “Lysander.
Lysander tilted her head, taking a glance at her neck.
Feeling guilty, Michelle quickly zipped up her school uniform.
Lysander cleared her throat lightly and said, “You’re not of age yet. You need to take care of yourself.”
Michelle’s face flushed a deep shade of red. She lowered her head in a mix of annoyance and embarrassment. “Lysander, what are you talking about…”
“All right, let’s go home.” Well she’s all grown up. There are certain things I can’t really express too bluntly.
While they were talking, Zachary had already driven the car over.
The two sisters took their seats in the back row.
Zachary started the car and drove for a while before noticing something amiss. “Hmm?”
“What’s wrong?” Michelle asked.
Zachary slightly furrowed his brows. “I can’t shake the feeling that the car behind us has been following us.
Michelle glanced back and suddenly exclaimed, “Isn’t this license plate number-
“Michelle, fasten your seatbelt,” Lysander said.
Michelle was still in shock. “Lysander, isn’t that-”
“Sit tight. We’re about to take a turn.”
Michelle hesitantly sat down but still couldn’t stop looking behind her.
Zachary drove steadily, dropping the two sisters off before leaving.
The Thorne family lived in an aged apartment building. There were no elevators, only stairs.
Michelle swiftly ran up to the second floor. She stood by the window and looked down, seemingly on the verge of saying something but holding back.
However, observing Lysander stride ahead without a backward glance and realizing she had no desire to engage in conversation, Michelle had no choice but to silence herself and match her pace on the way home.
Anger instantly flared up in Maverick when she saw Michelle. “So you’ve decided to come back?”
Michelle pouted, her tone less than pleasant as she said, “Fine, I won’t come back, then. I’ll go live at my physics teacher’s house.”
Maverick slammed his fork down with a loud thud. “Don’t you dare! If you step out of this house today, don’t even think about coming back!”
“Fine, I won’t come back, then! I’ll follow him to the ends of the earth!
Having said that, she turned and bolted out of the door, slamming it shut with a bang.
Maverick was livid, his face red. “Lysander, did you see that? Your sister has become incredibly audacious! How dare she go and stay at someone else’s house? Has she no shame!”
Laura watched as Michelle left in a huff, her worry outweighing any other emotion. “It’s so late. It’s not saf@/2

for a young girl to be out there alone! What were you thinking, Maverick? She’s about to take her college. entrance exams. Why would you upset her now?”
“Did I say something wrong? They are both our daughters, yet why is Lysander so sensible and ambitious, while she shows such little self–respect!”
“Enough! Stop talking!” Laura then turned to Lysander. “Lysa, you should quickly go check on your sister. She left in a huff. I hope she doesn’t run into any trouble.”
Lysander was seated by the window.
Glancing sideways, she spotted–the white Cayenne parked below the building.
“Lysander?”
“All right, I’m going now.”
She rose to her feet and descended the stairs. As she passed by the Cayenne, she wrapped her coat tighter around herself and quickened her pace.
Unsurprisingly, the sound of a car door opening echoed from behind.
“Lysander!”
Lysander ignored the voice.
That tall Josiah caught up with her in just a few strides. He reached out and grabbed her wrist. “Lysander…”
Lysander swiftly brushed him off. “Josiah, when will you ever stop? Don’t you have work to do? Don’t have a woman to take care of? What are you doing here?”
“I..”
“Hurry up and leave. I don’t want my parents to get upset because of this.”

With a bitter smile, Josiah said, “I just wanted to let you know you’re going the wrong way. Your sister ran off in a different direction.”
