Chapter 140 The Accuser Has To Provide The Proof
Lysanne held the syringe at
rown carotid artery, threatening. “What are you trying to do? If you take one
more step forward, I’ll stab myself!”
Lysander stood still, lifting her head with a slight smile. “Go ahead, do it.”
Lysanne gritted her teeth. “If I were to die right at your hospital’s doorstep, no one would ever dare to come to this hospital again!”
Lysander looked at Lysanne for a moment, his voice steady. “Ms. Lysanne, I have to ask. Must you make such a big scene today?”
“That’s right! If I’m suffering, don’t think you’re getting off easy either!”
“Fine.”

Lysander watched her, utterly nonchalant. The latter, who had been so confident just moments ago, was now filled with uncertainty. “What are you planning to do?”

“Nothing. Lynn, bring me a chair,” Lysander ordered.
Lynn had been with Lysander for two to three years, so as soon as she heard the instructions, she immediately. understood what needed to be done.
Visibly excited, she dashed back to the hospital building and quickly returned with a chair.
At the same time, she held a folder in hand.
When Lysander extended her hand, Lynn readily placed the folder into her grasp.
Lysander received the folder and slowly opened it, looking down as if she were an interviewer. She said, “What scandal were you going to reveal about me to everyone? Come on, let’s go through them one by one.”
Lysanne asked cautiously. “What are you holding?”
“A patient’s medical records. Do you want to take a look?”
Lysander scoffed, then with a voice choked with tears and sorrow, she lamented, “Everyone, do you see what’s happening? The victim has come knocking on the door, yet she’s here, carefree and unconcerned. She shows no regard for the patient’s fate. I’m pregnant, and pregnancy is the most vulnerable time for a woman. And she, a gynecologist, chose this time to seduce my husband. Does she have no shame?”
Suddenly, the crowd’s gossip began to fill the air.
The words likely weren’t kind, but thankfully, given the clamor of the crowd, Lysander couldn’t make out what they were all saying.
Fred, who had just finished a lengthy negotiation with Lysanne, was physically exhausted due to his age. At this point, he was assisted by several doctors to the flower bed on the side where he sat down.
Upon hearing Lysanne “accusations,” he grew concerned again. “We can’t let this continue. She’s heavily pregnant. What if something happens to her…”
Lynn was filled with confidence. “Don’t worry, Dr. Ziegler. Dr. Thorne can handle it.”

Chapter 140 The Accuser Has To Provide The Proof
The Dean was still somewhat uneasy. “Adrian, don’t worry about me. Go stand by Lysander’s side. If anything. unexpected happens, keep her safe…”
Adrian gave a slight nod. “Alright, I’m heading over n now.”
“Hurry up.”
However, before Adrian could part the crowd and reach Lysander, the situation had taken another turn.
Meanwhile, Lysanne was drawing strength from the increasing crowd, and the fact that virtually everyone was throwing accusations at Lysander only boosted her momentum. “Dr. Thorne, as the department head of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Central Hospital, your actions represent the hospital. Haven’t you considered that your disgraceful behavior could tarnish the hospital’s reputation?”
Lysander was at a loss for words.
“To all the expectant mothers here who are preparing for childbirth, you must remind your husbands to be wary of women who may have ulterior motives and take advantage of their situations!
Moreover, gentlemen, a woman giving birth is akin to approaching the jaws of death. She puts her life at risk to bear your children. Please, remember the sacrifices your wives make. Don’t let a fleeting moment of lust blind you. Otherwise, your wives might end up like me–driven mad, broken, and tormented for a lifetime…”
Lysander listened to her words as she was seemingly giving a speech, her brows furrowed slightly in impatience. “Are you done?”
“I am, Dr. Thorne. Could you please explain why you are trying to seduce my husband?”
Lysander let out a chuckle. “Since you’ve asked everyone to judge, that’s fine by me. Ms. Thorne, you’re at lawyer. If I remember correctly, the law states that the accuser must provide evidence. You’re accusing me of seducing your husband, do you have any proof?”
Lysanne said, “Doesn’t what I’ve personally witnessed count as evidence?”
“That’s as good as not having any,” Lysander sneered. “No matter. Unlike you, I do.”
