Chapter 104 There Is Always Time
“Is the groom’s name Harry?” asked Lysander.
“Yes. Do you know him?”
Lysander said, “He’s my high school classmate.”
Fred’s joy increased. “That’s even better. We’re all familiar faces here. Tell me, tell me, was he exceptional even back then? I heard he was even recommended for Apex University.”
Fred seemed quite pleased with Harry, so it wouldn’t have been appropriate for Lysander to dampen his spirits at such a time.
After careful consideration, she simply said, “Harry is indeed a good student, but I feel that when two people get
married and live together, academic performance isn’t the most important factor. It’s the person that matters.”
Fred nodded repeatedly. “Indeed, when Priscilla initially told me she had a boyfriend and was expecting a child, I was somewhat displeased. However, after having a meal with Harry, I found him to be incredibly polite and his manners impeccable. That’s when I finally gave my approval.”

Lysander found herself unable to say anything more.

The wedding, in fact, was conducted rather conventionally. If one were to be a bit blunt, it could be said that it was somewhat perfunctory.
Perhaps due to the tight schedule, the
remony was essentially procedural. It began with a video on the big screen showcasing the couple’s journey of falling in love. Then, the host asked if they were willing to marry each other. Finally, they exchanged rings and the groom kissed the bride.
Throughout the entire event, an emcee controlled the pace. Lysander only played a role when the twe parties exchanged rings, serving merely as a tool to deliver the rings.
However, the presence of the groom’s best man was somewhat unexpected.
Adrian, dressed in a black suit, had a red silk ribbon that read “Best Man” pinned to his chest. After delivering the ring, he stepped back to her side.
“Did I
Dr. Ziegler send for you?” Lysander asked softly.
Adrian gave a noncommittal hum. “I heard the groom just got back from abroad and was having a hard. time finding a best man. Dr. Ziegler asked me to step in for a bit.”
Lysander turned her head toward the stage below, only to see Fred already overwhelmed with tears of old age.
He was usually known for his upright and steady character and held a significant reputation in the medical field. However, at that moment, he was slightly hunched over, with a noticeable redness around his eyes.
“When a daughter gets married, it’s likely tough for her father to handle it emotionally.” Lysander gave

a nod.
“When you married Mr. Guerra, your father must have found it hard to let go, didn’t he?” remarked.
Adrian.
Lysander lifted her eyes, meeting the clear gaze of Adrian.
Adrian hurriedly clarified, “I didn’t mean anything by it. I was just asking casually. You don’t have to
answer if you don’t want to.”
Lysander said, “We didn’t have a wedding ceremony, so my dad didn’t react much.”
“Is it like this case where you were too busy at the time to do it?”
Lysander paused for a moment, softly responding with a hum of acknowledgement.
“Is it you who’s busy or is it him?”
“Neither of us have any free time.”
Adrian let out a chuckle. “There’s always some time to spare if you squeeze it right.”
Lysander remained silent.
Among adults, it was not just about the words spoken, but also the tone used.
The implication of Adrian’s words was already quite clear. He was suggesting Josiah didn’t take her seriously at all.
Adrian thought it was precisely because their love wasn’t genuine that Josiah could forego a wedding ceremony, ignore Lysander’s feelings, and allow himself to rekindle his old flame.
Those were all facts, and Lysander had no grounds to argue against them.
“Lysander…” Priscilla softly called out to her.
Lysander quickly stepped forward to meet her, supporting her. “What’s wrong?”
Priscilla whispered, “There will be a toast later, but I can’t drink since I’m
pregnant…
In those days, the role of a bridesmaid boiled down to three things, which were running errands, doing odd jobs, and shielding the bride from excessive drinking.
Since Lysander had agreed, she was mentally prepared. “Mm, I know what I’m getting into. Don’t worry.”
Priscilla, holding Lysander’s hands, cooed in a sweet, spoiled manner, “I owe it all to you today, Lysander.”
“It’s all right. It’s just that I don’t really know any of the guests who came today. You’ll have to remind
me.”

“Let’s go. I’ll accompany you upstairs to change into a more appropriate attire.”
From a diagonal direction behind, a shocking voice suddenly rang out, “Lysander?”
