Chapter 102 Play With Ex Of Friend
Lysander nodded. “I understand. You two grew up together.”
“Long live understanding.” Aiden suddenly winked ambiguously. “Actually, I’m not so concerned about second marriages. You’ve divorced Josiah, right? You’re single now, so why not consider me? I’m not teo bad, you know. I might not be as wealthy as him, but I can basically provide what need.”

Lysander lifted her eyebrow. “You want to play with a friend’s ex?”
“Oh dear, you’re really painting me in a bad light here. While I admit I may lack some refinement, I’m certainly not that sleazy.”
“Is that so?”
“Of course, if I were to evaluate myself, I’d say I’m a decent person, albeit with rather low standards.”
Lysander couldn’t be bothered to pay him any attention.

The divorce didn’t go through. Hence, Daphne expressed her disdain for Josiah’s behavior, which seemed like he was rekindling an old flame.

Daphne did so in several ways.
Firstly, on Instagram, she subtly took aim, referencing classic literature, and very culturedly penned a short essay, satirically criticizing Josiah.
Secondly, she enthusiastically introduced Lysander to potential suitors, among whom she was most satisfied with Adrian.
Whether Josiah was contemplating rekindling an old flame remained uncertain, but one thing was clear. Lysander had already made her stance known, not leaving any room for a second chance.
Daphne didn’t rush her, simply stating. “If you really don’t like him, there’s nothing you can do. Adrian isn’t the type to pester relentlessly. You’ve already made your feelings very clear, and you haven’t led him on. You’ve handled it really well.”
She gestured toward the pile of delivery boxes in the corner of the room. “I’ve brought back the little cookies you wanted. They’re all there.”
Lysander nodded, pulling out two boxes to hand to Daphne. “A token of appreciation for your hard
work.”
Daphne chuckled lightly. “Well then, I won’t hold back.”
“No need for formalities.”
Following that, she picked up three more boxes, carefully placing them in a gift box, all set to take them to the hospital the next day, intended for Adrian.
As Daphne was eating, she said, “There’s really no need to be so particular about it. Who without making some sacrifices?”

“It’s better to have things clearly defined,” replied Lysander.
The next day at work, Lysander placed the small cookies on the reception desk.
Just as she was about to follow the blood collecting vehicle out the door, she received a call from the hospital director, Fred Ziegler.
“Dr. Ziegler?” Lysander spoke.
“Lysander, are you free this weekend?” asked Fred.
In the past, as long as she wasn’t working overtime on the weekends, she would usually spend her time at home with Josiah. They would watch a movie together, or go out to eat, among other things.
However, she hadn’t been troubled by that issue recently, so she had plenty of time on her hands.
“Dr. Ziegler, what’s the matter? What would you like to discuss?” asked Lysander.
Fred said, “My daughter is getting married over the weekend. Could you lend a hand?”
Lysander had seen Fred’s daughter from afar once before. Rumor had it that the young woman was art student and quite attractive. “What do you need me to do?”
an
“It’s nothing much. As you know, my wife passed away early. I only have this one daughter. I’m afraid I don’t quite understand all the procedures young people go through for marriage these days, so I wanted to find someone experienced to help out.”
“Dr. Ziegler, actually… I’ve never had a wedding ceremony.”
“You’ve never done it before?”
“Yes.”
“It’s all right, it’s all right. The main thing is, I’m looking for a reliable woman who can help keep an eye on things.”
Fred had always been kind to her. His daughter’s wedding was a significant event and since he had asked for her help, she felt it was only right to do her best.
Thus, Lysander agreed, “All right, send me the address and I’ll head to the hotel a bit early.”
“All right. Lysander, you’ve always been a steady one. Hearing you say this puts my mind at ease. By the way, feel free to bring some friends along. The more the merrier.” Fred smiled.
Upon returning home, Lysander casually mentioned the matter to Daphne.
In truth, Daphne didn’t know much about Lysander’s work matters, but when she heard about the weekend wedding, she became unusually nervous. “At which hotel?”
Lysander felt a bit helpless. “It’s an old place with a story.”
She flipped her phone around, showing Daphne the screen. Instantly, Daphne’s eyes widened in
