Chapter 1501She thus bit the bullet and put away her pride, doing everything from begging on the streets and
scamming strangers to dumpster diving and crashing into people for injury claims.
Yet, she still couldn’t make ends meet. She knew she had to get a great sum if she wanted to
escape this cycle of poverty.
Even if Thalassa herself wasn’t wealthy, Callum, a businessman, definitely was!
Ten million dollars?
Susan was shooting for the stars with that request. Thalassa was taken aback, finding Susan’s
demand so naive as well.

Callum was merely an acquaintance of her. How could she expect him to fork over ten million
dollars for her?
“Susan, Mr. Gordon and I have no relationships. Why on earth would he give me ten million dollars?
Be realistic. The reality is you get the money you can. Let me go, and I’ll give you two hundred
thousand dollars. That’s all I have,” Thalassa pleaded for her life.
Susan was in a very unstable state right now. Her grip on the knife trembled with hatred. A slip of
her hand could end Thalassa’s life.
Thalassa couldn’t die, especially not at Susan’s hand. She hadn’t seen her four little treasures in
three years, missing them desperately. She couldn’t bear the thought of leaving this world without
seeing them one last time. She was sure they missed her just as much.
“I’ll do it! I’ll give you ten million. Just let her go, now!” Callum’s anxious voice emerged after
Thalassa finished. He stood with his hands raised, neither advancing nor retreating, his usually cheerful eyes now filled
with anxiety and concern. He was determined as he said to Susan.
Susan paused. She scoffed and said to Thalassa, “You’re still playing duplicity as before, Thalassa!
Always saying you wanted nothing to do with Lysander, yet you were always by his side, being his
prized possession. Now you say you have nothing to do with Callum, but in fact, you and Callum
are already a couple and have slept together so many times, right? Otherwise, how could he agree
to exchange ten million dollars for your life without hesitation?”

Susan said as she pressed the knife against Thalassa’s throat. The pale, delicate skin was slashed
and blood oozed out along the blade in a gruesome way.
Thalassa winced, trying not to move or breathe too heavily, fearing she’d lose her life due to any
further aggression from Susan.
“Don’t do this. Just tell me your bank account, and I’ll transfer the money right now. Please, let her
go…” Callum was distressed; his breath hitched and his plea was urgent.
“Ten million is far from enough. I want a hundred million!” Susan suddenly decided that ten million
wouldn’t be enough for the rest of her life, thus she raised her demand.
“I… ” Callum was going to respond.
novelbin”What makes her worth a hundred million to you?”
Before Callum could respond, a deep, commanding voice cut through the tension.
Thalassa saw Rosalind rolling a wheelchair towards them. The man in the wheelchair had an aura
of cold, untouchable beauty. It was Lysander! His sharp gaze passed over Thalassa and fixed on
Susan with disdain, chillness, and intensity.Susan’s hand trembled more noticeably now, her voice a mix of panic and anger, “If you don’t give
me a hundred million, I’ll slit her throat right now! Let this worthless woman disappear from the
world!”
“I dare you to do it. She’s nothing but a discarded pawn. If she’s such a nuisance, then by all
means, end her misery,” Lysander offered.
