Chapter 1498Thalassa raised her hand high, keeping her phone out of reach, and then glanced down at the
woman’s legs, a cold smirk spreading across her face. “Weren’t you just lying on the ground,
claiming that you couldn’t get up or walk? How come you’re suddenly as lively as a spring chicken?”
The woman faltered, her act falling apart.
novelbin”I…I was just flustered because…” she stammered, clearly lacking conviction.
Rosalind was taken aback. “So, you were just trying to scam us, huh? If you don’t get lost, I’m
calling the police!”
“No, no, don’t call. I’m leaving. I’m leaving!” The woman hastily retreated.
Thalassa then turned to Rosalind. “It’s all good now.”

Rosalind wanted to thank Thalassa, but remembering that she was Lysander’s ex and had four kids
with him, she felt a twinge of discomfort, and the words of gratitude just wouldn’t come out.
“If it weren’t for this situation, your car wouldn’t be blocked,” Rosalind said flatly before heading to
her car.
Thalassa paused for a moment, understanding Rosalind’s implication. Rosalind was saying that
Thalassa’s intention wasn’t solely to aid her, but rather to clear the way for herself.
It didn’t matter to Thalassa though. Her assistance wasn’t merely for the sake of receiving a thank
you from Rosalind.
Resuming her path to her car, Thalassa passed the sleek limousine, inadvertently meeting
Lysander’s intense gaze. His eyes, profound and penetrating, sent a chill down her spine, causing
her heart to race.Even after all this time, Thalassa still felt that familiar panic whenever she locked eyes with
Lysander.
Unable to hold his gaze, she quickly looked down, walked past the car, and got into Callum’s car.
Parking in the middle of the road was generally not allowed unless there was an incident, so
Thalassa had no choice but to return to Callum’s car.
As the limousine drove away, Callum started the car.

He asked, “So, you and Lysander are completely done, huh?”
His question picked up the conversation they had before they stopped.
Thalassa was taken aback, her heart feeling as if it was squeezed tight.
Were she and Lysander really over?
She had spent so much effort trying to escape Lysander, even getting Callum to help her and the
kids make a getaway. Now that Lysander had indeed pushed her away, why did her heart feel so
suffocated?
Thalassa took a deep breath and said, “Have you not dated anyone in these three years? At your
age, most people start thinking about settling down.”
She didn’t want to delve into her and Lysander’s affairs with Callum. Her own feelings were muddled
enough; how could she explain them to someone else?
“I’ve spent three years trying to get over Leopold’s death. He taught me that love can be lethal. I
haven’t dared to try.”Callum’s words made Thalassa’s heart tighten. It had been a long time since she’d heard Leopold’s
name from someone else, and hearing it now still brought a long-lost ache.
“Leopold chose that path to win your freedom,” Callum continued.
“What do you mean?” Thalassa was stunned.
