Chapter 1475After wrapping up her online course for the day, Thalassa returned to Lysander’s side, admiring the
peaceful expression on his handsome, sleeping face. Leaning down, she planted a tender kiss on
his cheek and whispered, “Goodnight, Lysander.”
With quiet steps, she left the master bedroom and retreated to the guest room for the night.
The next morning, Dr. Funke arrived to continue Lysander’s treatment. As he finished inserting
acupuncture needles, Rosalind walked in.
Spotting Dr. Funke as he was about to leave, Rosalind called out, “Dr. Funke, could you please tell
me how Lysander is doing? When do you expect him to wake up?”
Dr. Funke hesitated, glancing towards Thalassa, unsure if he should discuss a patient’s condition
with someone he didn’t know.
Thalassa gave a slight nod, indicating it was alright for Dr. Funke to share Lysander’s condition.
Even if Dr. Funke kept it from Rosalind, she would have asked Zephyr, who would have felt obliged
to inform her of Lysander’s condition. Thalassa didn’t want Zephyr to think she was overstepping
her bounds, acting as if she were the lady of Royal Estates and giving Rosalind the cold shoulder.

With Thalassa’s approval, Dr. Funke answered Rosalind, “He’s improving. I expect him to wake
within the next two months.”
With that, Dr. Funke departed with his medical bag.
novelbinRosalind thanked him, then turned to Thalassa and said with a warm smile, “Thalassa, thank you
for tirelessly looking after Lysander in my stead.”
Looking after Lysander in her stead? The words pricked Thalassa’s heart like thorns, sending an uncomfortable twinge through her.
Rosalind always appeared so cultured and graceful, with an air of sophistication that made it hard to
find fault in her words. Yet somehow, she always managed to irk Thalassa.
“I look after Lysander because Zephyr allowed it. I didn’t do it in anyone’s favor,” Thalassa replied
coolly. “You haven’t eaten yet, have you? The kitchen just finished preparing dinner. Why don’t we
sit down together?”
“No, that’s alright. I’ll take a quick peek at Lysander and then head to my class,” Rosalind declined
the invitation to dine, making her way upstairs to Lysander’s room.

“Ms. Whitman, Mr. Lysander is resting,” Fitch, the butler, tried to intercept her.
For years, no one but Thalassa and the Royal Estates staff had entered Lysander’s room. Ms.
Whitman had not once visited him, and now that Lysander was rumored to be close to awakening,
she had suddenly become attentive?
Without a backward glance, Rosalind dismissed Fitch’s attempt. “I’ll just have a quick look. I won’t
disturb him.”
Fitch exchanged an apologetic glance with Thalassa, feeling that he had failed to stop Rosalind.
Seeing Fitch’s guilty expression, Thalassa reassured him, “It’s fine, go on with your duties.”
Each day that followed, Dr. Funke treated Lysander, and Rosalind was present. After each session,
once Dr. Funke left, Rosalind would observe Lysander for a moment and then depart.
Rosalind’s visits were sanctioned by Zephyr, and Thalassa was in no position to object.
…Before they knew it, two months had passed.
Thalassa cared for Lysander with unwavering dedication, and the day he was expected to wake
drew near. Lysander was showing signs of consciousness; his eyelids fluttered, and through the thin
skin, she could see his eyes moving, indicating he might wake at any moment.
Thalassa remained ever vigilant, staying by Lysander’s side, hoping to be the first person he saw
upon awakening.
