Chapter 1373
“Mommy!” Elowen’s voice quivered with fear.
The bodyguard scooped her up and made for the exit.
“Mommy…” Sophia’s small frame squirmed in fright.
Clutched tightly in the bodyguard’s arms, she, too, was carried out alongside Elowen.
Their struggles and cries gradually faded into the distance.
Thalassa, weak but determined, tried to follow. “Give me back my children…”
She barely took two steps before a burly bodyguard blocked her path. Thalassa halted, her eyes swimming with tears as she faced him.
“Move aside, let me go to my children!” Thalassa gasped for air.
“Sorry, Ms. Everhart, don’t bother chasing them. It’s no use,” the bodyguard said.
Thalassa knew it was futile to argue with the bodyguard. She turned her teary eyes to Zephyr, pleading, “Please, leave the children with me. They are my flesh and blood…”
“They might be your flesh and blood, but you’re not fit to be a mother!” Zephyr spoke with a mix of sadness and fury.
His eyes were clouded yet intense, fueled by pain and anger. “A month ago, after Lynder returned from Hollowbrook, he was in a slump. I knew you had clouded his judg is whole world revolved around you. To help him move on, I orchestrated a little pr the overseas firm, forcing him to work abroad. It was supposed to be a three-mo thought that in three months, he’d come to his senses, that pining over a woman worth it. But he stubbornly finished the three-month workload in one!
After completing the job, he secretly came back to the country to see you, and now h this perilous situation! You viperous woman, wasn’t it enough to destroy Leopold? No you’re after my Lysander, too! Cough… cough..”
Zephyr’s voice broke as he descended into a fit of coughing, his physical and emotional pain nearly overwhelming him.
“Zephyr, please calm down. Mr. Sinclair is still counting on you…” David, steadying Zephyr, was anxious as he patted his back.
Zephyr couldn’t afford to collapse now; he was the only hope for Lysander.
His connections, his power, were unmatched.
Zephyr took a deep breath, trying to suppress the turmoil inside him. He wanted to stay
calm, to not lose his temper, but how could he when Lysander, the boy he raised and had such high hopes for, was fighting for his life in the ER?

How could he not be enraged?
Thalassa’s breath shook. Zephyr’s words hit her like a bombshell.
So, Lysander hadn’t come to Hollowbrook in a month because Zephyr had sent him abroad for work. He had worked tirelessly to shorten his time away, to sneak back under Zephyr’s radar to see her.
And she had been so cold, so distant.
If only she had been more heartless, pushed him away completely.
Then, he wouldn’t be lying critically injured because he tried to save
Amid the overwhelming grief, the roar of choppers filled the sky above the hospital.
Zephyr’s gaze sharpened, and he instructed the doctors, “Quick, prepare a sterile environment. Bring Lysander out; his ride is here.”
No sooner had Zephyr finished speaking than Dr. Everest, clad in his white coat, rushed in with a medical team in tow.
