Chapter 85

EMMA

“Why do you always have to make everything about you?” Ethan questioned making me furious than I already was.

“Everything about myself? Are you kidding me? You can’t throw pool party and I’m not aware and I’m sure mom and dad aren’t informed too. What’s wrong with you? What has gotten into your head and weren’t you the same person pleading that I gave him another chance?” I asked.

“Don’t make a fuse. As you can see I’m speaking to some people so it would be best for you to just leave. We can talk more when I get home. I don’t have time for this,” he replied.

Gosh! I grew up having a good relationship with my brother and we were best friends but as we grew, we became distant, and honestly, the person he’s becoming is making me pi ssed. He speaks to me as if I’m his little sister and as if I don’t

matter.

“What is wrong with you? Have you become that much of a jerk that you don’t even realize?” I couldn’t help but voice out my get.

“Oh please. Don’t start Emma. Right now is not the time and place for this attitude of yours so spare me all of this,” he said through his teeth.

“Alright. It is not the time and place so I’d just let you know once and for all. There will be no pool party and if you try to go do it regardless of my warnings then I will call Mom and Dad and inform them,” I warned sternly.

“You wouldn’t dare,” he retorted.

“Oh trust me. I would love to see you angry,” I said before walking away.

I didn’t want to see him. I cannot stand his presence. He makes me angry. He infuriates me. Goodness.

“How did it go? I saw from afar your conversation with it and it wasn’t looking good. Is there a problem?” Lola asked.

“My brother is a jerk! I can’t stand him! No matter how hard I try not to get angry at what he does, he doesn’t make it easy for me. Like how dare he tell me he will do as he wants and I cannot do anything about it? Like who does that!” I complained bitterly.

“Ethan is a jerk. I just can’t stand him and if he thinks that he’d get away this time around then he’s wrong because I will make sure that the pool party doesn’t happen,” I said to Lola.

“And why is that?” She asked.

“Excuse me?” I sounded frantic.

“Don’t get it the wrong way. I know that you are p issed because he didn’t tell you about his plans and he just went ahead and announced it to the whole school but this party will make a lot of people happy and including myself,” she spoke.

I scoffed in disbelief. “What are you even saying?”

“My brother wants to use our parent’s house for a pool party without informing our parents and that’s not even the problem, I didn’t know myself and discovered from you so imagine how I’d feel if I walked out of my room on Saturday to see strangers in the house? He crossed the line and for that reason, there won’t be any party,” I stated firmly.

“I understand you, Emma, I get it, I’m just saying you shouldn’t be against the party. Please.”

“Why? Because you want to attend it? What? Tell me what it is that you have in mind,” I asked her.

Chapter 85

“You don’t get it. I have never been to any school party before and I wanted to attend one and I see this as a good opportunity for me. I am talking about how this party is happening and everyone is invited including myself so please don’t, don’t make sure it doesn’t happen,” she pleaded.

I understood where she was coming from but at the same time. I didn’t like that she’d be pleading for me not to do anything

for this sake.

I opened my mouth to say something to her but closed it because I was speechless.

“I know your brother has offended you and he might have spoken in a way that didn’t seem nice but please I’m begging you. For my sake and who knows with this party? You’d get the chance to speak to Sean,” she stated.

“And what does Sean have to do with this? You already said I dont have to stress myself because if he wanted to speak to me then he would so why would he want to speak to me at the party when he has been avoiding me?” I questioned.

I felt like she was trying to convince me so that I would let Ethan act as he pleased but sadly I wasn’t in the mood for that and my mind was already made up.

“Take a look at the bright side. Sean might not be speaking to you for some reason best known to him but I believe he’d come to speak to you that day. I mean it would be your house and also you both will find time to speak.”

“I know that I said that if he wanted to speak to you then he would have but what if he is looking for means but can’t”

“And why wouldn’t he come to speak to me if he wants to? I mean it’s not like anyone’s is biting him or preventing him from doing so,” I remarked.

“You said he changed. You said Dream was close to you and he changed as you both grew up same with Ethan. You know boys always have bro code. You can’t date my sister. What if Ethan doesn’t want Sean to be close to you? Have you ever thought about that?” She mentioned and I let out a small laugh at her thoughts.

“It’s not possible. Ethan cannot tell Sean what it is that he should do and besides, why would Ethan have a problem…” I trailed off when I realized that Ethan had indeed been telling boys to stay away from me and that’s the reason none of them ever approached me.

Was Sean part of those boys? Was it that he might not have said anything to Ethan but indirectly Ethan has told him to stay away? I couldn’t help but think of the possibility.

“Do you think it’s possible?” I asked Lola because my mind wasny allowing me to think the way that I wanted to.

“Yes, it is possible. It’s like the books we read and the romance movies we watch. Sean might be holding back because of Ethan. I mean he wouldn’t want to disrespect you by kissing you so why did he do that?”

“It cannot be because he wanted to hit the jackpot. I mean you both are friends. You both grew up together and for him to take that bold move and kiss you. There is more to it.” She explained and I couldn’t help but think deeply.

After we kissed. He said he has been wanting to do that for a long time. We were both about to have a conversation until Ethan had come and he made sure I left before he followed.

Could Ethan have something to do with why Sean is avoiding me? If that’s so then Sean is a jerk because why would he do

that?

“You can only know what’s on his mind if you see him. And now that I think about it, I want you to know what he’s all about. Even if he wants to be a player, he won’t be a player to his friend and also his best friend’s two sisters.”

She made sense with her words. Sean has always been protective and careful when it comes to me. He even treats me nicer than my brother although he doesn’t say much to me. The other time too he sided with me and that made him and Ethan get into some argument and now that I think about it, what if that argument had to do with me!

Chapter 85

“I know you might think I’m saying this because I want you to let your brother have that party and I won’t be lying if I said I don’t want you to let the party happen but this party could also be in your favor, don’t you think?”

“It would be best for you to get what’s in your chest out once and for all. Why don’t you let this happen and use this as an opportunity to finally speak to Sean? Get to know what he truly feels and afterward, you can know your next step.”

I thought about her words. It wasn’t a bad idea and it was best I know once and for all.

I smiled at her. “Alright then. The party would hold and that’s because of you and me. If it was left to me and I didn’t have a reason for it to hold, I’d have made sure Ethan regrets his actions.

“He has been doing a lot and it’s irritating. I want to make sure he knows not to make me angry again and today would be the last day I let him do that. He has no right over me and even if he meant it in a good way, he’s doing too much and for that reason, I must make him pay,” I stated firmly.

“That’s good to hear. And thanks for letting the party hold. I cannot wait. Maybe I’d finally find someone or someone a boy might finally notice me and who knows,” Lola remarked.

“Eh eh. It seems you want a boyfriend for yourself, isn’t it? So tell me, dear friend, do you have your eyes on someone because it starting to feel like you do? Who is he and where is he from? Give me all the details,” I urged, nudging her arms teasingly.

“It’s no one,” she denied but she was doing bad at it.

“Oh come on. You already know mine so it’s fair I know yours too. Who is that boy that you want to get to notice you,” I asked and she ran away in shyness making me run after her in laughter.
