home in the same direction as Joe? Are both of you living in Jubilant Street? If so, he can give you a ride on the way.” Rowan made the arrangement directly.
Skylar blinked. She knew Joe owned many properties and Jubilant Street seemed to be near Martin Group.
However, it was not on the way to their current residence in Galaxy Villas.
“It’s not convenient. I live in Galaxy Villas.” Joe refused directly without hesitation or searching for an
excuse.
Rowan was taken aback. Meanwhile, Annie’s smile stiffened.
The others acted as if they hadn’t heard their conversation.

“I’ll just take a cab Annie clutched her limited–edition bag lightly.
Rowan felt a bit awkward. “I’ll drive you then. I also have an apartment on Jubilant Street. I’ll stay there.
tonight”
“Thank you, Mr. Jakeman.” Annie accepted.
After Joe got into Skylar’s small car, everyone was stunned again.
“What brand is that little car? Is it a newly released limited edition?” Lukas frowned and asked. He didn’t
recognize it.
Annie knew what brand it was. The car had been advertised on her show. “It’s a domestic new energy
vehicle.”
She wondered how far things had progressed between him and Skylar.
“It must be Mr. Joe’s secretary’s car,” Mark commented.
His eyes sparkled. Skylar came from an ordinary background, and he thought that she was pretending to be innocent. He felt that Skylar was likely being supported by Joe now.
He speculated how long Joe would keep her before he got bored and whether she would continue to be so proud, as powerless girls were the easiest to control.
Rowan clicked his tongue. “I almost thought it was some kind of limited edition model.”
On the way back, Joe was slightly drunk.
Her car felt even smaller with him in it. Normally, she didn’t notice anything amiss. But with Joe, the car seemed narrower.
“If you’re tired, you can sleep for a while. I’ll wake you when we get home,” Skylar said after glancing at the

tired Joe.
Joe opened his eyes and looked at her. “Okay.”

Perhaps it was the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere in the car, plus the lack of aggression from Skylar,
that made him put his guard down.
There was no perfume smell in the car, only a faint scent of medicine. It was probably another of her. mixes with some mood–stabilizing effects.
Skylar put on some soothing music. Normally suffering from sleep disorders, Joe fell asleep without realizing it.
They reached Galaxy Villas, and Joe slept soundly throughout the ride.
When they stopped, Joe opened his eyes. His eyes still held traces of sleepiness.
“You’re awake? We’re home.” Skylar was surprised. She had thought he might sleep a bit longer.
Joe hummed in response, then looked at his watch. “Let’s go home.”
When the words slipped out of his mouth, Joe paused as he was about to open the car door.
He turned back and glanced at Skylar as she was preparing to get out of the car.
Skylar saw him looking at her. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, let’s go,” Joe got out of the car.
The noticeable height difference between them was evident under the moonlight. Joe’s figure completely enveloped Skylar.
Skylar looked at their overlapping shadows on the ground and blinked.
“Let me hold the bag.” Joe took the bag from Skylar’s hand.
The money she had won was all in cash. They were stored in a tote bag from the club. It was several million dollars in cash.
The bag was somewhat heavy. This weight was nothing significant for Skylar, but before she could speak, Joe had taken the bag.
“Thank you.”
They entered the brightly lit Galaxy Villas. They had left the lights on when they left.
It was already 1:30 am.
Skylar was feeling sleepy. Normally, she didn’t stay a
