Chapter 207 Sorry
After being stuck in traffic for what felt like forever, the road finally cleared up.
The section where a large truck had smashed into a wall was all taped off, and they had towed
the truck and a couple of other cars involved.

Kate ended up at Silverwood Hospital for a complete check–up. Thankfully, she was mostly just rattled, without any severe injuries to show for it. Eric was in a similar boat, mainly feeling okay, George, on the other hand, wasn’t doing as well. He had some internal injuries and a broken right leg and was currently in surgery.
Eric looked unfazed, giving off a relaxed vibe. Lucas Ackles spent no time getting to Silverwood Hospital, bringing more security guys. Not too long after, they also brought in the truck driver and the person driving the smaller car. It didn’t take long to figure out who they were.
The truck ran the red light because the driver was exhausted and confused. He accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, speeding towards them. When he realised his mistake, he briefly regained control, but in his daze, he turned the wheel the wrong way, scraping their car before crashing into the wall.
Trapped in the cab, the truck driver succumbed to the impact and died on the spot.
As for the person driving the small car…
“What? Holly was driving that small car?!”
Kate’s eyes widened in shock upon hearing the bodyguards‘ report.
The bodyguard responded immediately, “Yes, her injuries are serious. She’s got car debris piercing her organs. She’s in surgery, but it’s touch and go.”
Kate’s face went cold. She was gripping her hands so tight, feeling all this anger, blaming herself, and feeling guilty simultaneously.
She had been way too trusting and too soft!
She couldn’t believe Holly would go to such extremes, trying to take her and Eric out like that! If George hadn’t acted so fast, she and Eric could have been seriously hurt because of Holly.
It seemed Holly couldn’t manage to get rid of the goods, so she did something drastic to try and cover it up!
Holly had lost it–completely lost it!
“Kate, it’s going to be okay.”
Eric held her hand, speaking in a gentle tone.

Kate was shaking, trying to speak through her tears.
She never thought it would get this intense. She never figured they’d almost bite the dust!
And yup, it seems like she played a big part in this mess.

Her strategy was slick at first–outing the traitor in their midst, spinning a web of lies, and setting up Terresa to sneak into the factory and wreck the place.
She upped her and Eric’s security, feeling pretty confident, but what she didn’t see coming was Holly’s wild card move.
If something were to happen to George, Kate would be kicking herself forever!
She realised she might have been too trusting, too laid–back, letting Holly and her crew take advantage of her.
Was ditching everything for a movie and hot pot with Eric a bad call?
“Kate, it’s not your fault.”
Eric gave Kate a comforting hug, saying, “Don’t beat yourself up over this.”
As tears rolled down her cheeks, Kate said, “But it’s my fault all this happened! It’s all because I was too proud, too arrogant.”
Watching Kate cry, Eric felt a wave of sadness.
He could relate to her struggle, having been through his fair share of close calls and relying on others to protect him until he got to where he is now.
With a gentle sigh, Eric softly told her, “Look, it’s okay, Kate. Let’s not think about that now, okay? I’ve got this from here”
