Chapter 175 Committing a Crime in Broad Daylight
Under the setting sun, Simon, wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a mask, lurked near the Davison Group. He kept a furtive eye on the entrance while angrily biting into the bread he held.
Damn Kate, he thought. If it weren’t for that little bitch breaking free and performing so brilliantly at the International Design Competition, humiliating Ruth and even exposing Ruth’s sabotage, he wouldn’t have to be lurking around the entrances of the Davison Group and Silverwood Hospital. Why couldn’t she just stay under their control? How did everything change so suddenly?
Reflecting on recent events, Simon felt a surge of frustration and discomfort. He had lost too much, and it was all connected to Kate!
Kate and Eric were like two mountains standing in his way. As long as they were around, Simon couldn’t rise to power.
If there ever came a day when Kate and Eric fell into his hands, he would make sure to torment them thoroughly. They wouldn’t get off easily. As these thoughts ran through his mind, he took another fierce bite of the bread, chewing so hard that his face twisted into a grimace. Suddenly, he froze, a fiery glint flashing in his eyes. That little bitch Kate had finally emerged from the Davison Group building!
Simon tossed the bread aside and headed straight toward Kate, a cloth appearing stealthily in his hand as he approached her.
Kate didn’t notice Simon sneaking up behind her. She frowned slightly, glanced into the distance, and then looked down to send a message to her driver. Just as she lowered her head, she suddenly. shivered.
In the reflection of her phone screen, she saw someone wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a mask approaching her. The person’s right hand seemed to be holding a cloth.
Kate immediately became alert, her body tensing as she used her phone to observe the person
behind her.
That person… was definitely targeting her!
Pretending not to notice anything, Kate felt cold sweat trickling down her back.
The person drew closer step by step, and when they were very close, they suddenly sped up and lunged at Kate. The person’s right hand aimed straight for Kate’s nose and mouth.
Kate’s eyes flashed with determination, and she reacted swiftly. She sidestepped and ducked, evading the lunge, then quickly retreated to put distance between herself and the attacker.
Simon hadn’t expected Kate to dodge. He gave her a cold stare before lunging at her again.
The spot where Kate was standing had no surveillance cameras. If Simon wanted to succeed, he needed to subdue her here, knock her out, and take her away. Plus, she didn’t have any

Finished
This was a once–in–a–lifetime opportunity. Missing it would make it nearly impossible to strike at Kate again.
Kate quickly regained her composure. She eyed the man charging at her and, narrowing her eyes, called out coldly, “Simon?”
She recognized his build and, especially, those eyes, which were just as revolting as Simon’s!
Simon didn’t respond, continuing his aggressive advance toward her. Kate dodged his attack and decisively shouted, “Help! Someone’s attacking me!”
Her voice was loud, even though it was dusk and not many people were around. Still, some were startled by her cry and looked her way.
Simon’s eyes turned even colder.
That little bitch had reacted so quickly and called for help!
