hapter 112 Just Returned from Abroad?
Darlene’s face turned pale at Kate’s words. She glared at Kate and addressed the people around her. “Everyone, look at here! I was just greeting an old classmate, and she treats me so rudely.”
Kate’s eyes were cold as she glanced at Darlene; her voice was even colder when she rebuked, “I don’t. consider you a classmate. Stop trying to associate yourself with me.”
She hadn’t expected to run into Darlene here.
Darlene had indeed been her classmate in college, but she had always sided with Lana. The two of them often work together to make Kate’s life difficult.
After all, Kate came from a wealthy family. She was smart and beautiful. Despite growing up spoiled, she excelled in every way, surpassing Lana.
Lana resented her, and her cronies despised her even more.
Darlene crossed her arms and sneered, “Kate, don’t think we don’t know you’ve cut ties with your family. You’re no longer the rich heiress, so stop acting so high and mighty. Do you really think you’re Still the well–loved heiress?”
“Oh, well–loved? She sounds more like the arrogant and overbearing heiress!”
Kate raised an eyebrow. She wore a mocking smile on her face as she looked at Darlene. Kate asked slowly. “Ms. Wagner, have you just returned from abroad?”
She eyed Darlene’s outfit, all high–end foreign brands, practically screaming for attention.
Darlene proudly lifted her head and admitted smugly. “Of course!”
One of the women accompanying Darlene also chimed in. “Yes, Darlene just returned from studying abroad. She has even placed in international design competitions over the years! This time, she made it to the finals.”
“Do you know the Davison Group? Darlene received an offer from them! She’s about to begin working as a designer there.”
“And you, Kate, what do you have after cutting ties with the Lowes, besides a husband who doesn’t love you?”
Listening to their chatter, Kate couldn’t help but draw a conclusion.
She leaned back in her chair, elegantly folding her hands on her lap, and lazily looked up at those women Kate asked, “So, you’ve all just returned from abroad?”
“Of course, we’re way out of your league now.”
One of them spoke with pride and looked at Kate with disdain.
Haha!

Kate sneered coldly internally.
It seemed like in her past life, she had been too naive and inexperienced to realise people could be so self–centered and arrogant!
If these people spent any time online, they wouldn’t spout such nonsense.
Darlene’s face lit up with smugness when Kate remained silent.
In college, she followed Lana around, always feeling inferior to Kate. She was beautiful, had a great figure, excelled academically, and had unparalleled talent in design!
Every time they saw her, it made them feel inferior.
Now that she could finally step on Kate, Darlene was ecstatic.
She was thrilled beyond measure!
“Well, you all are truly impressive.”
Kate spoke slowly, but anyone could hear the sarcasm in her voice.
She paused for a moment, then adjusted to a more comfortable position. Her eyes were full of disdain as she glanced over the group, and she spoke slowly, “It’s a pity, really. You’ve spent so much time abroad that your heads are in the clouds. You believe whatever you’re told, and without realising it, you’ve become someone’s pawn!”
