Chapter 79
Kiki showed her the information she had found. The documents showed how Daphne had been using men abroad to become a singer.
“I only just found out how dirty she was,”
“I know,” Yvette said.
“Why didn’t you tell Xavier, then?” Kiki was confused.
She had shown Yvette because she wanted her to show Xavier. Perhaps the two of them would be able to patch things up.
Yvette knew what her intention was, but there was a faraway look in her eyes. “If Xavier wanted to find -out about someone, he could do so very easily.”
Kiki finally understood.
“What does he see in Daphne then? Does he like how manipulative she is? I just don’t understand what these men are thinking!”
Yvette hadn’t understood in the past either, but after reflecting on herself, she realized that she was just like Xavier. She knew that he didn’t love her, but she still chose to marry him.
Likewise, Xavier knew that Daphne wasn’t a good person, but he still loved her.
Love wasn’t about whether the other party was a good person or not. Even a venomous woman would have plenty of suitors.
Yvette comforted her. “It’s alright. I don’t love him anymore, anyway.”
“Okay.” Kiki nodded.
At 9:00 a.m. the next day, a news article began trending.
“Top celebrity Daphne makes a fool of herself at the Lane family’s birthday banquet. Accused of bullying children, plagiarism, and being ostracized by her future in–laws, she was kicked out within less than ten minutes.”
The people on the Internet flocked to follow the drama.
Back at Carnival Central Media, Daphne demanded that they get the news off trending topics at once.
However, she did not have the influence that Tristan did, and the news remained stubbornly on the trending topics. Daphne had no choice but to look for Mark, Xavier’s assistant. After all, it was related to Xavier’s reputation, too.
In the CEO’s office at Titan Corporation, Mark told Xavier about the news. “Should I just leave it for now?”
Previously, when Daphne had told all kinds of entertainment media outlets that she and Xavier were

together, Xavier had ignored it. Xavier looked briefly at the newest article.
“Whoever made this happen can deal with it.”
Mark understood. He put another pile of documents in front of Xavier. “This is what our man in Asnea found out. This is everything we found out about Yvette’s movements for the past four or five years.”
Xavier took the documents and flipped through them page by page. As he got further, a photo. suddenly dropped out. Xavier picked it up. It was a photo of a little boy lying in a hospital bed.
The little boy had delicate features, and his eyes were bright and dark. He was a good–looking child, with an aristocratic air to him.
Xavier felt that the boy in the photo looked very familiar, but he couldn’t think of where he had seen him before.
Apart from work, Xavier never bothered to remember things or people that didn’t concern him. He had naturally forgotten that he had once met Zachary
“We found out that Yvette has been living with Claude for the past few years, and we found the child, too,” Mark said.
Xavier felt conflicted as he looked at the boy in the photo.
“Where is the child now?”
“Still in Asnea. Claude has arranged for people to watch over him, and security is very tight.”
The first time Mark had seen the photo of Zachary, he had felt that his eyes looked very similar to Xavier’s. However, it was difficult to determine this kind of thing just by looking.
“Mr. Lane, is this child yours and Ms. Snyder’s?” Mark spoke up.
Xavier did not answer. “You can go out.”
“Okay.”
After Mark was gone, Xavier sat alone in his office, reading through the report of Yvette’s experiences over the past few years.
As he had expected, she had been with Claude the entire time. He looked at the photos of Yvette and Claude walking side by side, and he wished he could burn them all!
Mark hadn’t found enough, especially about the child, because there was no useful information apart from the photo.
Xavier’s eyes were icy and conflicted. He tossed the documents into a drawer and got up to go to Yvette’s office.
