Chapter 73
Before long, the car backed up and the window rolled down. Xavier shut the laptop in his hand and looked at Yvette.
Yvette was dressed in an ivory–colored, backless gown that day. It made her skin appear even fairer than normal.
His eyes lit up, but he wasn’t surprised as the bodyguard had informed him when her and Kiki’s car pulled up to Lane Mansion.
“What a coincidence,” he said, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Her eyes shimmered. “Indeed. What a coincidence.”
“Hop in,” Xavier said without further ado. Yvette got into the car and sat next to him. “Did you come here to find me?”
Outsiders had no idea this path existed. Only his driver would come here.
“I wanted to see if this would jog my memory,” she lied through her teeth.
His expression was inscrutable when he heard that. He told his driver, “Head to my place first.” Xavier was referring to his residence at Lane Mansion.
“Yes, sir.”
Yvette wasn’t sure what he meant. Xavier turned to face her and said, “Since you want to recover your memories, let’s start by returning to our bridal room.”
Their home was located at Dewberry Manor, but their bridal room was at Lane Mansion. Xavier’s room was the same as before, decorated in a monochromatic color scheme.
He walked in and started undressing in front of Yvette. First, he took off his suit jacket. Then, he unbuttoned his cuffs and collar one by one.
Yvette stiffened. It was obvious that she hadn’t expected him to do that. Instinctively, she looked
away.
Xavier gazed at her, noticing that her cheeks had turned a deep red. He deliberately walked over and asked, “Why aren’t you looking at me? Don’t you want to recover your memories?”
His scorching gaze raked over her from head to toe.
Her cheeks felt like they were on fire. She should be the one seducing him, but why did it feel as if the tables had turned? Suppressing her inner turmoil, she slowly raised her head.
The buttons on his white shirt were all undone. Looking up further, she met Xavier’s deep, dark eyes. His Adam’s apple bobbed. He grasped her wrist, guiding her hand to his body.
“Here, touch me. Does it feel familiar?”
Her palm heated up as she touched his firm abdomen. She pretended to be calm and murmured, “No, I still don’t remember anything.” Her hand trembled slightly as it wandered over his chiseled body.

His muscles tensed all over, but he could sense the fear within her. She was so nervous. Yet, she was pretending to be experienced.
A wicked smile played on his lips as he swept her into his arms and pinned her against the wall, his lips crashing onto hers.
Meanwhile, the banquet had already commenced. Shannon had been waiting for Xavier but to no avail. After learning from his driver that he had gone back to his room, she decided to seek him out.
Before the banquet began, she had met with several daughters from prominent families, each more. remarkable than the last.
Shannon grew anxious as she thought of Zachary, whom she had met earlier that day. She wanted her son to have children as soon as possible.
As she reached Xavier’s room, she noticed that the door was slightly ajar. She gently pushed it open, only to be met with the sight of Xavier and Yvette locked in a passionate kiss.
Shannon immediately averted her gaze. Even though she disliked Yvette, the thought of her long- awaited grandchild tugged at her heartstrings. After a moment of hesitation, she decided to leave.
Inside the room, Yvette was left breathless and dizzy from the intensity of Xavier’s kiss. Strangely, he only kissed her. No matter what she did, he wouldn’t go any further.
She frowned, gritted her teeth, and nervously reached out to touch his member.
His Adam’s apple bobbed. Suddenly, he came to a halt and grabbed her hand. His eyes were deep and unreadable as he asked, “Do you want to regain your memories, or do you want me?”
