Yvette’s fingers tightened. Xavier felt how tense she was and held her hands in his palms. His lingering kisses were strong and forceful.
Yvette’s back was straight and tense as she fought to suppress her feelings of resistance.
She reminded herself that Noah and Zachary were still waiting for her return.
In the end, she decided to go along with Xavier so she could get pregnant as quickly as possible. With this thought, she submitted to him.
Xavier was taken aback at first, but then he relaxed. He unbuttoned his collar and unbuckled his belt.
Yvette had just taken a bath. The fresh scent on her skin filled his nostrils, causing his heart to pound rapidly.
Unable to restrain himself, he placed Yvette on the couch in the living room and undressed her.
Yvette clenched her fists tightly. She didn’t dare–or rather, didn’t want to look at Xavier. Instead, she stared at the light above.

Her untimely words caused Xavier to stop. His gaze turned icy. “Yvette! Are you going to pretend to be clueless with me?”
Yvette grabbed the bathrobe to cover herself. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Watching her actions, Xavier couldn’t help but think of that night years ago. It was a night he hadn’t forgotten.
His throat tightened. His fingers landed once more on Yvette’s face, and he leaned in slowly.
“Why did you come back this time? What are your intentions?”
She had been hiding for more than four years, so he wouldn’t believe she had returned without a
purpose.
Yvette’s heart raced. She was afraid Xavler would find out about Zachary and Noah.
She forced a smile and said, “MrLane, do you have paranoia? While you may be rich and powerful, I’m not that poor either. I came back this time just to help people like me, who were born with disabilities.”
To make him believe her, Yvette even took off her hearing aid and showed it to him. “You said you know me, so you should know that I was born with a hearing impairment.”
Xavier looked at the hearing aid in her palm without speaking. He gradually moved closer until they
could hear each other’s breathing and heartbeats.

“Since you say you don’t know me, tell me what you and Claude have been doing these past four years.”
Xavier was breathing heavily. His warm breath was all over Yvette’s face. She could almost feel his
heartbeat.
She suppressed her feelings of past humiliation and met his gaze. “Mr. Lane, you wouldn’t be so interested in my past unless you had feelings for me, right?”
Xavier’s chest tightened. At that moment, he abruptly let go of her. “You’re overthinking it.”
Yvette had long known Xavier to be ruthless. She had pursued him for more than ten years without earning his affection, let alone now.
But it didn’t matter to her anymore. It made things easier for her; she could keep Zachary and Noah away without feeling any guilt.
At the same time, her phone rang with a video call. It must be Zachary calling at this hour.
She left Xavier’s embrace and wrapped herself in the bathrobe. Then, she took the phone and hung up the call.
Xavier noticed each of her actions.
“A spam call,” Yvette said. She then looked at him. “Didn’t you want to tell me how we know each other? I’ll get some wine, and we can talk slowly.
She decided to resolve things quickly so she could leave the country immediately.
After saying that, she went to the second floor. She opened a bottle of wine and took a packet of drugs and a set of equipment for sperm collection.
