Chapter 177
Shannon watched as Kiki and Zachary left; disappointment was written all over her face.

At that moment, Mandy received a piece of news; Shannon had gotten someone to investigate what Xavier had been doing recently.
Mandy immediately reported, “Mark’s man said that Mr. Lane has been raising a child in Tirion for more than half a month now.”
After Zachary went back to Kiki’s villa, he figured that he would have to be cautious no matter where he went in the future.
Xavier had already discovered Noah, so he couldn’t let his bastard father find out about him as well.
Zachary worked fast on his computer in his room. After a while, he managed to contact Noah. He had sneakily broken through Fortian Manor’s firewall the previous day and contacted Noah.
Xavier had only snatched away Noah’s smartwatch back then and didn’t know Noah had been secretly holding on to a tiny communication device.
That night, Noah was lying on the bed when he saw the device glowing. It was as small as a button. He had hurriedly placed it next to his ear. “Zac.”
“How have you been?” Zachary asked.
“I’m doing quite well. Xavier has arranged many people to take care of me, and they give me whatever I want every day.”
Then, Noah looked at the dark view outside. If he hadn’t been sick, Yvette would never have had to return to Tirion. They could have lived a quiet life together like a normal family.
“That’s good.” Zachary relaxed when he heard that.
If Noah had said that he was suffering, Zachary would have done whatever it took to bring him back.
However, it was wishful thinking. After all, he was too young, and there wasn’t much he could do. Since he couldn’t protect Yvette, it would be tough to protect Noah too.
“Zac, I need to ask you something.”
“What is it?”
“Is Xavier really a bad guy?” Noah had started wondering about that when he had pranked Xavier. No matter how mad Xavier had gotten, he had never done anything to Noah.
“Why would you ask that? He abandoned his wife. Isn’t that bad enough?”
Zachary thought Noah was too kind, but Noah didn’t think the same way. “I think he likes Mom, Zac.”
When Zachary heard that, he was stunned.
“Then, Noah quickly added, “Do you know I’ve seen her? Xavier brought her here himself on her birthday. When I saw how he looked at Mom, it didn’t look like he hated her. Instead, it looked like he was holding something back…”

Since Noah was sick, he had always been more attentive than other children. He would always judge people for the little things they did.
“Is that all?” Zachary didn’t believe it.
Yvette had never badmouthed Xavier to Zachary or Noah. However, Zachary had caught her awake at night and crying alone multiple times. Sometimes, she would call out Xavier’s name.
He had even looked into Yvette’s past with Xavier. There was literally nothing that could prove that Xavier
liked her at all.
Noah even told Zachary about how he had messed with their bastard father. Zachary silently listened to him and fell into a deep thought.
If Xavier really loved Yvette, then he would be willing to let Zachary stay with her. However, he was worried that it might not be the case.
“It’s getting late. You should get some rest. It’s risky for me to call you. If we talk for too long, we might get caught.”
“Alright.”

Noah was slightly unwilling to see the light on the device fade away. He spent of his day resting indoors, and he couldn’t sleep at all at that moment.
So, he looked at the stars outside and muttered to himself, “If Xavier really isn’t a bad guy and loves Mom, should we forgive him?”
Right after he said that, his bones started to hurt. His forehead was also covered in a layer of sweat. He gritted his teeth in pain and coldly said, “No. We can never forgive him.”
The more pain Noah felt at that moment, the more hatred he had for Xavier. He hated Xavier for abandoning Yvette for another woman. He also hated Xavier for not knowing that he and Zachary existed.
Noah and Zachary had been bullied and mocked by others countless times because of that.
