Chapter 165
Yerick knew the true faces of some female celebrities in the entertainment industry well. As Claude’s friend, he felt compelled to advise him.

Claude realized Yerick had mistaken the person. “It’s not Daphne.”
Yerick was puzzled. “If it’s not her, who is it then?” He only knew about the rumors involving Daphne and
Xavier.
“Yvette.”
Yvette…
Yerick thought for a moment and before he quickly remembered her. He was even more shocked now.” You want Xavier’s wife?”
There would still be room for discussion if it was about Daphne since she and Xavier weren’t married yet.
But Yvette… Yerick carefully thought back and remembered her.
Although she had once been the heiress of the Snyder family, the fact that she was deaf made her unfit for high society.
She was also the woman who had caused Xavier embarrassment.
Rumor had it that when they had gotten married, Terrence and Yara had taken the wedding gifts meant for Yvette’s husband. Hence, Xavier had ended up with nothing and become a global laughingstock.
During that time, Yerick had enjoyed watching the story unfold.
Afterward, Yvette had slowly disappeared from public view. If Claude hadn’t brought her up, Yerick would have forgotten that Xavier even had a wife.
“Bro, what are you thinking? She’s married, and besides, she’s disabled–I mean, hearing–impaired.” Yerick< softened his tone out of fear of angering Claude. “She’s not worthy of you.”  “Whether someone is worth it isn’t based on such external conditions,” Claude refuted.  Yerick knew Claude was in too deep when he heard those words.  He was curious about what kind of charm Yvette possessed to make a cold–hearted man like Claude fall for her. And even if he liked her, would Xavier let Claude have her?  The way Yerick saw it, if a woman belonged to him, he wouldn’t share her with another man even if he didn’t want her anymore.  “Alright, I’m hanging up.”  Claude knew that whatever came out of Yerick’s mouth would be something he didn’t want to hear, so he ended the call.  Ever since he had met Yvette five years ago, he had decided to protect her well and stay by her side.  When Yvette returned to the office, Xavier had already returned as well. Daphne was also in his office  1/2  with him. She was elegantly dressed as she sat on the couch with a hint of resentment in her eyes.  +15 BONUS  A few days ago, she had instructed Andy to take action against Yvette, but the useless Andy had claimed that Yvette had bodyguards around her, so he couldn’t approach her for the time being.  Now, the online news was escalating, tarnishing her reputation.  Daphne had even tried to investigate Yvette’s life abroad, but all the information seemed to have been deliberately erased, and she couldn’t find anything.  The more things like this happened, the more worried she became that Yvette would take Xavier away  from her.  When Daphne saw Yvette return, she stood up with an extremely aggrieved look and said to Xavier, “Xav, I’m leaving.” As she left, she gave Yvette a meaningful look.  Yvette was puzzled about the look in Daphne’s eyes. Before she could return to her seat, Xavier looked closely at the clothes she had just changed into.  “Have your friend withdraw the lawsuit,” Xavier instructed.  Only then did Yvette understand that Daphne couldn’t handle it herself and had come to Xavier again.  “Why? She plagiarized someone else’s song, and now she wants the victim to withdraw the lawsuit?” She couldn’t understand how Xavier could be so biased toward a woman.  “Daphne’s situation not only affects her but also concerns Lane Group’s subsidiary, Carnival Central Media,” Xavier explained frankly.  “Besides, international lawsuits take time and energy; there’s no need to waste them unnecessarily.”  Infuriated, Yvette couldn’t help but laugh. “My friend doesn’t care about wasting time and energy; she just wants Daphne to pay for plagiarizing her work!,  “As for Carnival Central Media, should they not be held equally responsible for condoning plagiarism? Mr. Lane, aren’t you being a bit selfish?”  Comments
