Chapter 151
Everyone was surprised. Xavier had never left halfway through a meeting before. Under the pleading

of the group, Mark reluctantly followed him out.

“Mr. Lane, Mark called.
Xavier motioned for him to be quiet and then picked up his phone, preparing to call Yvette.
But as he was about to dial, he hesitated. If he called her just like that, she would think he cared too much.
Forget it.
Xavier turned off his phone. He couldn’t calm down all day. As night fell, Xavier skipped dinner and asked his driver to take him home.
When he opened the door, the living room was eerily quiet. Darkness engulfed him in an instant.
Xavier didn’t turn on the lights. Instead, he just laid on the couch, feeling restless. He kept checking his phone, seemingly expecting something.
Time passed as he sat in the living room. After some time, his phone finally lit up.
It was a text from his bodyguard.
“Sir, Ms. Snyder has left and seems to be heading toward the airport.”
Xavier’s pupils contracted. Instinctively, he thought that Yvette was trying to leave.
The thought of her disappearing for another four or five years made Xavier run out without even bothering to grab his coat. He just took his car keys and left.
As soon as he got in his car, he floored the gas pedal the entire way.
He called the butler at Fortian Manor. “Go check if the child is still there.”
The butler had already been asleep but had to get up and go to Noah’s room upon hearing the command.
Noah was lying quietly in bed.
The butler confirmed, “He’s still here, sir.”
Xavier’s tense heart relaxed slightly. Since Noah was still there, Yvette definitely wouldn’t try to escape. Fortian Manor had tight security, making it nearly impossible for anyone to take Noah away.
“Keep an extra eye out tonight,” Xavier instructed, just to be safe.
“Yes, sir,” the butler replied, knowing his rest was over for the night. He immediately had all the security systems in the manor activated.
Xavier quickly reached the location the bodyguard had sent him. From a distance, he saw Yvette get out of a car and enter the airport.
Inside the terminal, Yvette checked the time. There were still over ten minutes until Claude’s flight landed.
When she had left earlier, she had been cautious and ensured that no one had been following her before instructing the driver to head to the airport.

She had assumed that the people Xavier had assigned to watch her would be resting by now.
What she didn’t know was that Xavier had already arrived on the second floor of the airport and was observing everything around her.
Soon, it was 11:00 pm. Yvette stood up and walked to the arrival gate.
It was at this moment that Xavier realized she was there to pick someone up.
Not long after, a group of people walked toward the exit. In the center was a tall, handsome man with an imposing presence. He had a ruggedly attractive face and was dressed in cool–toned clothing.
Yvette waved at him.
Upon seeing her, Claude quickened his pace and approached her. “Why did you come alone? Where’s Ray?
He was concerned about her being out by herself so late at night.
“Ray watched over me during the day. I let him go to the hotel to rest tonight. He can’t sleep in the car all the time, Yvette replied.
“I’ll assign a few more people to you-” Claude began, but Yvette cut him off.
“There’s no need. It’s too restrictive,” she complained, looking uncomfortable as she glanced at the row of bodyguards behind Claude.
“Alright. I’m back now anyway,” Claude said with a smile in his eyes.
“Yeah, let’s go. Kiki and Zac have been waiting to see you. You won’t believe how tired they were when I left, but they insisted on staying up to see you.” Yvette laughed as they walked and chatted.
Xavier’s face darkened like a storm cloud when he watched what was going on.
Was she not coming back to Dewberry Manor tonight because she was picking up Claude?
