“I’ve never given an order like that,” Xavier said blankly
Despite that, Tracy refused to leave. Even when his bodyguards came to kick her out, she clung onto the furniture and refused to let go.
“The people who beat me up said I’d offended you, Mr Lane. Please have mercy on me–I don’t want to die here.” She sobbed hysterically. Her face was covered in cuts. It looked like they would leave scars.
He didn’t feel like intervening, but it sounded like someone had taught her a lesson in his name. He couldn’t possibly let that slide.
“Tell me everything in detail.”
He made the bodyguards let her go. Upon being released, she kneeled on the floor and began telling him what had happened.
“It was the same day I met you. After I headed back from work, I was dragged out of my bed at around two or three o’clock in the morning.
“They beat me up and cussed at me. They said it was audacious of me to provoke you. Since then, I’ve been assigned to entertain guests.”
Tears streamed down her face. “Whenever I refused, they beat me up…”
Without Xavier’s orders, his men wouldn’t do anything on their own–he was sure of this. He instructed his bodyguards to escort Tracy out of Sternhow Club. Subsequently, he had someone find out who was behind this.
Since the incident had happened at Sternhow Club, it was easy to investigate it. About an hour later, one of his bodyguards returned.

“Mr. Lane, we found the people who went after Tracy Jones. They were sent by Ms. Reyes,” he
It was Daphne once again!
“Tell her that if this happens again, I won’t let her off the hook so easily.” He usually didn’t care about what she did, but she had crossed the line with this.
“Yes, sir.” The bodyguard hesitated for a moment before nodding in response. This was the first time he had seen Xavier this furious with Daphne.
Xavier wasn’t concerned about her taking action against another woman; he was enraged because she was doing it in his name!
The next morning, Daphne was informed that Xavier had found out about the incident.
She hadn’t thought much of it at first. She only realized that she had crossed a line after the bodyguard relayed the message.
While she was trying to come up with a suitable explanation, her agency received a legal letter from Cameron’s lawyer. The court had decided to go forward with her plagiarism case.
She didn’t know how to ask Xavier for help at this point
If only Tristan was still willing to help her out. She couldn’t help but sigh.

Compared to Xavier, Tristan was easier to manipulate. He used to give her whatever she asked for.
To her dismay, he seemed to have turned into a completely different person. He refused to offer her any help now.
*This won’t do, Daph. Isn’t Kiki Torres Ms. Cameron’s lawyer? Could you please forsake your dignity for a while and apologize to her? Maybe making up would make this easier for us.”
Laura couldn’t help but urge Daphne to do something. The news had already spread like wildfire. Everyone online knew that she had plagiarized someone else’s work. This lawsuit wouldn’t benefit her in
any way.
“I suppose that’s our only option.” Daphne was unwilling to apologize to Yvette’s friend, but there was nothing else she could do. “Please help me get in contact with her.”
Yvette was woken up by a call from Kiki.
She hadn’t been able to sleep well that night. Every time she had thought of Xavier’s offer, she had become extremely angry.
She picked up the call. “What’s up?”
“Good news, Yvvy. Daphne wants to see me. She said she wants to personally apologize for plagiarizing.” Kiki’s lips curved into a smile. “She even told me to go see her. The sheer audacity of this woman! I told her to come over to my place instead.”
Who in the right mind would ask the recipient of the apology to go to them?
“That sounds about right. She made you stay in the police station for an entire day. There’s no way you can let her off the hook just like that.”
Kiki hummed in agreement. “You should come over too, Yvvy.”
She wanted Yvette to watch Daphne grovel, too.
