When Kiki found out that Yvette had been hospitalized, she hurried over in the afternoon.
Xavier wasn’t around when she got there. She stared at Yvette, who was covered in rashes, and felt indescribably distressed.
d? Why did you eat
“How could you be so something you know you’re not supposed to?”
Yvette comforted her, saying, “Don’t worry. I’ve already gotten tested, and I’m not severely allergic. It’s not fatal.”
“Cut the crap. It’s not like I don’t know that a serious seafood allergy can be fatal. If you ever do this again, I’ll…” Kiki paused to think. She didn’t know how she was going to threaten Yvette.
In the end, she said, “I’ll make myself have an allergic reaction, too.”

Yvette couldn’t help but smile. “I’m not lying to you, silly. It’s just that I tend to exhibit serious physical symptoms. In reality, though, it’s not life–threatening.

“I have Noah and Zac in my life now. Why would I put my life at risk like that?”
Kiki doubted her. “Why did you make yourself suffer, then?”
“Xavier is constantly cautious around me, not to mention the fact that he hates me. I didn’t know how to make him lower his guard,” Yvette replied.
He was always so close yet so far.
“All I could come up with was the dumb solution of making him regret it. I was far too stupid in the past. I kept everything to myself and made him think that I was living a good life with him.
“I gave him the impression that I was riding on his coattails. Now, I want him to know how much I suffered being with him.
That was also why she had tried so hard to hold back her anger when she had heard what Xavier had said to Tracy the day before.
“Also, this is the reason why I want to repay the money Yara and Terrence scammed him out
of.”
Yvette was aware that the tricks she had up her sleeves were nothing compared to what Xavier could do.
So, instead of trying to do that, she decided to act like she used to. The only difference was that she wanted Xavier to notice how well she treated him and how badly he treated her.
Kiki understood that. “That’s too hard on you, Yvvy.”

“Don’t you dare tell Zac what happened today, or he’ll worry,” Yvette said.
“Okay. Don’t worry.”
It was getting late, so Yvette told Kiki to head back.
When Kiki left, she was greeted by the sight of Xavier, who was walking over. He stood tall and poised. His deep and sharp facial features gave him an imposing vibe.
She had seen him on the news before, but she only realized why Zachary was so insufferable after seeing Xavier in person.
Like father, like son, she supposed.
His looks were top–tier, but unfortunately, his personality was trash.
“You might not know me, Mr. Lane. I’m Yvvy’s friend. Could I ask you for a favor?” Kiki stared right at him. “Can you be nicer to Yvvy? It’s not like she owes you anything.”
Xavier had never met Kiki before.
However, when he had previously asked someone to look into Yvette, he had decided to look into Kiki as well and remembered what she looked like.
“Instead of worrying about us, it would be better if you gained more professional knowledge so you don’t get caught again,” he said through his thin lips.
Kiki was stunned. Was he talking about when she got locked up last time?
He was so annoying! She was going to explode from anger.
Xavier went into the ward. All that Kiki could see was his back, which looked untouchable.
At that moment, she became certain that Zachary was Xavier’s son. They had a knack for saying equally infuriating things.
All she hoped for was that Zachary wouldn’t become a toxic, cruel man like Xavier.
When she got into the car, a tiny head suddenly popped up from behind the seat. “Kiki, what happened to my mom?” Zachary asked with a look of concern.
Kiki jumped up out of fear. “Aren’t you supposed to be at kindergarten?”
