Chapter 118
Tristan thought Yvette couldn’t reach some parts of her wound, so he reached out to help her.

When Yvette saw him reaching over, she thought he was going to hit her. So, she instinctively dodged him, and the ointment fell on the back of his hand.
“I’m sorry.” She stood up. “I’m leaving now.”
He knew she had misunderstood him, so he tried to explain himself. “I was just trying to help you apply the ointment.”
“Thank you, but there’s no need for that.” She wanted to leave, but he didn’t want her to misunderstand him again. So, he blocked her path.
“Xav told you to wait for him to return.”
She looked at him coldly. “I can wait for him outside,
Seeing how she was acting, Tristan didn’t feel great at all. “Please don’t be afraid of me. I’won’t hurt you again.”
Yvette felt like she had heard the world’s greatest joke when he said that. Tristan had said the same thing to make her let her guard down in the past.
“Please step aside.” It didn’t matter if he wanted to hurt her or not. She didn’t want to talk to someone/
like him at all.
Tristan continued blocking her path at the door and wasn’t willing to move. “I’ll let you go once we’ve applied the ointment.”
Yvette didn’t know what he was up to and was afraid his, temper might act up again. Since it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble, she decided to continue applying the ointment.
“Don’t be so careless in the future. It’s dangerous to jump out of a car. You’re lucky that your injuries aren’t serious,” he said with a caring look in his eyes.
She kept quiet. Tristan’s emotions had always been unpredictable, and she had gotten used to it. She swiftly applied the ointment and said, “I’m done applying it, Mr. Shaw. May I leave now?”
His heart ached badly for a moment when he met her distant gaze. “Just stay here, alright? I promise! won’t do anything to you.” He tried to sound as gentle as possible.
Her gaze darkened; she had figured that he would go back on his word. However, there was nothing she could do. This was his territory, and he was Xavier’s best friend.
Since she couldn’t leave, she said nothing else and stopped insisting on leaving.
Seeing that she was staying, Tristan grabbed another medication. Then, he packed it up before giving jt to her.
“After you go back, remember to apply it three times a day. Otherwise, there might be a permanent scar.”

If it hadn’t been for his earlier actions, she would have thought that he was a kind and gentle doctor.
“Thank you.” She accepted the medication. Seeing how she was letting her guard down, Tristan wanted to explain what had happened years ago. However, he couldn’t bring himself to say it at all.
He had mistaken someone else for his savior and even hurt Yvette after she had saved him.
Yet, he didn’t know how to initiate the conversation. So, he thought of another solution. “Yvette, do you remember saving someone back when you were still in university?”
There was no way she could ever forget that. If she hadn’t saved him, he wouldn’t have been able to repay her kindness with hatred. Then, her ear wouldn’t have been damaged for life.
“I do. I even remember how he said he would do his best to repay me,” she said calmly.
Upon hearing that, Tristan’s words got stuck in his throat.
Then, Yvette added, “But I regret it. If I could turn back time, I definitely wouldn’t save him again.”
“Yvette, I…” Just as Tristan was about to explain himself, Xavier entered the room and interrupted their conversation.
“Goodbye.”
After she stood up and left the room with Xavier, she threw the medication Tristan had given her into the trash can. There was no telling if he had done anything to tamper with it.
Standing nearby, Tristan saw her throw the medication away with his own eyes.
Xavier asked her, “What did you just throw?”
“Trash.”
