Hailey froze. She was unable to believe what she was hearing. The evidence had come from Sergio?
“That’s impossible! You’re just trying to stir up trouble!” she shouted angrily.
“Mrs. Brooks Senior, you’re a respected figure in the industry. If this leaks out, you could face a lawsuit! Think about how your reputation would fall!” Noah knew exactly how to hit Hailey where it hurt.
Hailey’s high standing in the industry was largely due to her having a supportive husband, a successful son, and a well–behaved grandson. But now that Sergio wasn’t backing her up, she had no choice but to concede.

Allie quickly supported her and addressed the Hoffman family. “Mrs. Brooks Senior isn’t feeling well and needs to rest. If you don’t leave, I’ll call for help!

Allie, having seen her share of tough situations, spoke with unwavering confidence.
Noah took a deep breath and said to Cecilia, “Cecilia, let’s go. If the Brooks family doesn’t give us a fair response by tomorrow, we’ll go straight to the media and expose everything! Let’s have this old hag end up in jail!”

Allie patiently said, “Mrs. Brooks Senior, it’s just a billion dollars. If this gets out, your reputation-”
“Shut up!” Hailey snapped and pushed Allie away.

Allie remained silent under the harsh rebuke. While she had followed Maeve’s instructions a few times, she had always been faithful to Hailey’s orders. Allle quickly added, “Mrs. Brooks Senior, I’ve been with the Brooks family for decades and watched Mr. Brooks grow up. I’m only thinking of the family’s best interests.

“While Ms. Hoffman might have had her delusions, she served you for a long time. After all, you had someone ruin her reputation. How could she not hate you?”

Halley, still fuming, ordered, “Call Sergio now and check on the hospital. Once he wakes up, tell him to call me immediately!”
One billion dollars… Hailey wasn’t going to let Cecilia get away with it. In Hailey’s eyes, the Hoffman family wasn’t even a big enterprise. Having them be of use to her was already a stroke of luck for them.
