Chapter 43
Clutching his leg. Jack lost his balance and fell to the ground.
Lily helped Area up calmly. Anya was at a loss for words.
It had happened so suddenly that everyone was stunned, Jack’s screams finally snapped them out of their trance, and they stared in disbelief at Lily.
Ian and Sean stood in place, gobsmacked. After a long while, Sean finally gulped and said, “Damn, Jan. She’s ruthless!”
lan was stiff, his expression grim. “She’s in big trouble.”
Sean shook off his mild stapor and gave a worried nod. “Yeah. That’s jack, after all. His leg was broken. He won’t let her off easily” After a beat, he added, “But did she really cripple his leg? With…”
Sean made two gestures with his hands. “With those two moves, his leg is impaired
Ian furrowed his brows and looked at Jack. “Judging by his agonized expression, it’s probably disabled.”
At that, an looked at Lily, wondering who she was. She was not even afraid of the Dalton family of Bridgeport and even dared to disable Jack’s leg. tan’s gaze grew inquisitive Meanwhile, Jack’s lackeys regained their composure and quickly helped Jackup.
Enduring his pain, Jack glared at Lily. “Where’d you come from, bltch?”
Lily lifted her gaze and cast him a cold look that made fack shudder. He restrained his haughtiness. “Which tamily are you from, Miss?”
Jack was cocky, but he was not a fool.
Nobody in the entire Ember Creek High School dared to cross him. Lily dared to impair his leg, which proved that her background wasn’t typical. If she was someone the Dalton family couldn’t offend, he would have to let this go.
Lily gave him a cursory glance With a hand in her pocket, she looked at Jack roguishly and said, “Driftwood Bay, the Brooks family. Lily Brooks.”
“W–What?” Jack thought he had misheard.
He leaned against his lackey and held his leg with one hand. He could hardly remain upright.
*Jack, Driftwood Bay is a small village in Aeston,” a lackey said. He moved closer to Jack after glancing at Lily. “I heard that a very beautiful student transferred to our school. Lily Brooks might’ve been her name”
After the first period in the morning, the news that an exceptionally beautiful transfer student had arrived in Class 18 quickly spread throughout Ember Creek High School. Many students even went to check out the excitement
However, Lilly was slouched over her table at that time, sleeping. No one could see her face.
Jack was busy that morning and did not arrive until the last period. He had not learned of this yet.
After hearing that he spat out the words, “A fucking lowlife like you has to audacity to attack me? Have you got a death wish?” Jack shoved his lackeys away and pointed at Lily.” I’ll make you regret attacking me.”
At that, he ordered his lackeys, “Guys, take them both to the field”
Anya, who had been dumbstruck, came to her senses. Trembling, she rushed to jack and knelt before him. “Jack, it’s all my fault. It has nothing to do with the new student. Please Irt her go”
Jack slapped Anya. “Let her go? My leg is disabled. I’m going to kill her!”
Anya’s face paled, and her tears flowed uncontrollably. “She didn’t do it on purpose. I’m brazing you, please forgive her. I’ll pay for your medical expenses.”
Anya had attended Ember Creek High School for three years and had been bullied the entire time. No one had ever defended her. Every time she was bullied, everyone would stay Jar away.
She didn’t have any friends. Whoever became her friend would be bullied as well. She’d been used to being alone for a good while now.
She was happy when the teacher assigned Lily as her deskmate. Ever since she started getting bullied, she had never shared a desk with anyone. She had no intention of making friends with Lily. She knew full well that befriending Lily would only hurt Lily.
