Chapter 78
The next morning, Alyssa woke up at 6:30. The first thing she did was check her phone and look at the post she made the night before. When she saw that Andrew had liked it, she felt a bit embarrassed.
They were married, but they hadn’t exactly discussed whether to keep it private. Still, aside from involving her when dealing with his family, he’d never officially announced anything. He probably didn’t want anyone else to know.
By posting it so openly, she felt like she was pressuring him to go public, which made the whole thing awkward.
She pulled the covers over her head, cringing at herself for a moment before finally getting out of bed.
After washing up and putting on some light makeup, she was ready by 7:00. When she stepped out of her room, Myrna was already busy preparing breakfast. Seeing Alyssa awake, Myrna greeted her warmly, “Good morning, Ms. Dawson.”
Alyssa smiled and said, “You don’t have to call me Ms. Dawson–Just call me Alyssa.”
“Alright, then I will call you Alyssa from now on,” Myrna replied with a cheerful smile.
“Okay.” Alyssa nodded.

“Alyssa, today we’re having cereal. I also made some pizzas,” Myrna said with a grin.
“Well, let me help you.” Alyssa rolled up her sleeves to assist, but just then, Andrew walked out of his room, already dressed and ready. He raised an eyebrow and said, “Didn’t I tell you last night? Stay out of the kitchen.”
Alyssa was speechless.
Myrna chuckled. “Andrew, you really know how to spoil your wife.”
Alyssa’s smile twitched slightly. She thought, ‘Spoiling me? More like he is just worried about his kitchenware and ingredients.‘
Still, she didn’t insist on helping.
They sat down at the dining table. Andrew remained focused on his phone, barely acknowledging her. Myrna served breakfast, and as Alyssa stirred her cereal, she sneaked a glance at him. Seeing that he didn’t seem to care about anything, she stayed quiet and picked up her phone. When she opened her social media, she saw a comment on her post from Andrew: [Your photography skills need improvement.]

She felt a little embarrassed and looked up at him just as he put down his phone and glanced at her. The timing made her choke on the cereal she was swallowing.
She started coughing uncontrollably. Andrew handed her a couple of tissues, his voice calm and composed. “I usually have two bowls of cereal for breakfast. Myrna probably made extra, so there’s no need to rush.”
Alyssa was speechless.
She coughed a few more times before regaining her composure and awkwardly saying, “About that post last night… I didn’t tag you in it.”
Andrew raised an eyebrow. “Tag or no tag, your photography is still terrible. You should practice more. Don’t some video apps have tutorials on framing shots? You could learn a thing or two.”
Alyssa silently grumbled to herself, “Why would I bother? I just posted it to mess with Sean’s ridiculous family. Do they even deserve good composition?”
But outwardly, she just gave a small smile and quietly resumed eating her breakfast.

Chapter 78
She finished quickly, grabbed her bag, and got ready to head out and take the subway.
Today, she decided she wasn’t going to ride with Andrew. If she kept taking his “convenient” ride, she’d end up being late every day. By the end of the month, she might not even get her full salary and might have to pay out of pocket instead.
She had checked the subway route before bed last night. It involved one transfer and was a bit of a hassle, but it was still better than being late every day because of his car.
Seeing her prepare to leave, Andrew asked, “Not hitching a ride with me today?”
“Can’t afford to,” Alyssa replied.
“Oh? Then you can chip in for yesterday’s gas,” Andrew said with a straight face.
