Chapter 76
Megan kept her eyes glued to her phone, eager to see how Alyss would respond in the group chat. She thought, ‘Will she break down in tears of regret, or stubbornly try to save face?‘
Frowning, she turned to Sean and said, “Sean, why hasn’t Alyssa replied yet? We’ve all tagged her so many times–she must’ve seen it by now, right?”
Brenda, who was sitting on the sofa peeling an orange, added, “Oh, she saw it alright. She’s probably hiding somewhere, crying her eyes out.”
She split the orange in half, handing one piece to Megan and the other to Sean. “Sean, you’re always so busy with work. You need to eat more fruit and make sure you’re getting enough vitamins.”
Sean took the orange, a smirk tugging at his lips. “When Alyssa comes back, Mom, you and Megan can get it out of your system, but don’t be too hard on her. I still plan on marrying her
“Fine,” Brenda replied. “When she’s back, I’ll just scold her for a bit. I won’t make it any harder than that.”
Megan huffed, “She didn’t cook for my birthday party last time, so I’m going to make her cook a hundred meals to make up for it. I’ll bring friends over every day, and if she refuses, I won’t forgive her.”
Sean shot her a glance. “You should stop hanging out with those friends of yours. They’re all a bunch of aimless drifters.”
“They might be, but they’re rich drifters with more money than they can spend. Even if they don’t do anything, their families can support their lifestyles,” Megan replied smugly. “All my friends are from wealthy families, trust–fund kids.”
Sean chuckled and popped the last piece of orange into his mouth. “Well, you are quite the socialite now…”
But before he could finish his sentence, his gaze dropped to his phone, and his expression turned icy.
His eyes were fixed on a post that Alyssa had just made. It was only one simple word, but he stared at them as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
He clicked on the images attached to the post. One was a picture of a marriage license, and the other was a shot of two hands intertwined.
He recognized that woman’s hand immediately–it was Alyssa’s hand, the hand he’d held countless times over the years. There was no mistaking it. But he thought, ‘Whose hand is the man’s?‘
He couldn’t figure it out. For all these years, Alyssa had been entirely devoted to him, and there hadn’t been another man in her life. He thought, ‘How could she possibly be married?’
His grip on the phone tightened as anger and disbelief surged within him. His chest heaved, and his fingers trembled slightly.
Meanwhile, someone in the group chat had already taken a screenshot of Alyssa’s post and shared it with everyone. The chat erupted instantly. Some members who had long been annoyed by Sean’s arrogance started tagging him nonstop.
“Love You No Matter What“: [Mr. Rivera, come take a look! Your fiancée just got married, and you’re not the groom! Didn’t you say she was head over heels in love with you? So how did she end up marrying someone else?]
“Listen to the Rain“: [This is too funny. Sean really thought he was such a hotshot, stringing along a fiancée at–home while flirting with his secretary, trying to make them both compete for him. But it turns out Alyssa wasn’t even interested–she just went ahead and married someone else.]
“Love Roses“: [No way… Alyssa got married? Didn’t Megan say she couldn’t live without her brother? Looks like she didn’t

love him as much as everyone thought.]
“Snow Snow Snow“: [So, Alyssa dumped Sean? I thought everyone said he was a master at handling women. Guess not.]
“Snow Snow Snow“: [Sean, how does it feel right now? Care to share with the group?]
“Listen to the Rain“: [You really thought Alyssa would just wait around for you forever? While you were messing around with your secretary, she went and found someone else. Guess your fiancée’s gone now!]
