Chapter 53
Alyssa couldn’t help roaring inwardly, “The stairs? Seriously?‘
She swallowed hard and said to Simon, “Mr. Hunt, could you possibly help me with the elevator?”
Simon pursed his lips and said, “I’m afraid I can’t do that. If I use my card to help you go down, I won’t be able to go down myself. The card is real–name authenticated, and once I swipe it down, I have to swipe it back up. Or, I won’t be able to go down again. Just look at my face, do I look helpful? I definitely won’t go to such lengths for others.”
Alyssa was left petrified,
Simon glanced at her shoes. “Ms. Dawson, since you’re wearing flats today, you shouldn’t need to take them off to walk down the stairs.”
Alyssa made no reply.
“Please take your time.” With that, Simon quickly headed toward the elevator that Andrew had taken earlier, swiped his card, and descended.
Alyssa stood at the stairwell entrance, gritting her teeth. “What a load of nonsense with this elevator. A real–name authentication? Pfft, just wait until I become a key member of your company, I’ll definitely propose to abolish this ridiculous
rule.”
After muttering to herself, she trudged up the stairs toward the 8th floor.
Simon went to Andrew’s office, asking, “Mr. Coleman, isn’t it a bit harsh for us to treat Ms. Dawson like this?”
Andrew turned his head and raised an eyebrow at Simon. “When did you become so kind–hearted? Should I send you to Blessed Teresa?”
“Um? Why?” Simon asked, puzzled.
“So you can take her place,” Andrew replied.
“Um… thanks but no. Let’s get the meeting started.”
“Call the HR department and have them arrange for Alyssa to report to the secretary’s office. Also, since she was late today, her wages should be deducted accordingly.”
“But the secretary’s office is already full. We don’t need more secretaries, and it seems a bit of a waste to have someone like Ms. Dawson, who is a business talent, as just a secretary,” Simon protested.
Andrew glanced at him. “I think you’re itching to be with Blessed Teresa.”
“No, I’m considering what’s best for the company. Just like how you make the best use of things, you should do the same with people,” Simon retorted.
“Having her as my personal secretary would still allow us to make the best use of her,” Andrew replied.
He intended to keep her under his watchful eye to see how she could steal his company’s confidential information for Sean. “Stop babbling. If you keep it up, just go to the branch to develop business instead,” he coolly remarked.
“Yes sir,” Simon hastily responded and turned to leave, only letting out a sigh of relief once outside. ‘Mr. Coleman really doesn’t know how to cherish beauty. Moreover, his vengeful nature is quite terrifying; fortunately, I didn’t end up on the opposite side of him, he thought.

Chapter 53
Alyssa walked for a full fifteen minutes to reach the 8th floor. She tidied her appearance, took a deep breath, and then knocked on the door of the HR department.
There were six people in the HR department, all of whom looked up at her, but no one responded.
She pursed her lips, feeling awkward. “Hello, I’m here for my orientation.”
“Ms. Dawson?” At this moment, a woman in her thirties stood up and asked.
“Yes, I’m Alyssa Dawson.”
“Come with me.” The woman led her to a small conference room. “Fill out this form. Get your employee badge from Katy over there, and then report to the 37th floor.”
Alyssa’s eyes twitched slightly as she muttered a curse to herself, Damn, I just came down, and now I have to go back up to the 37th floor?’
Nevertheless, she maintained her smile and accepted the form handed by the woman, her eyes landing on the position listed: secretary.
