Chapter 49
Sean had spent the entire afternoon dealing with the aftermath of the situation, trying to reassure the employees, but his efforts had limited effect. He had been busy until now and was utterly exhausted.
As he rubbed his temples, he answered Hailey’s call.
With a soft voice, Hailey said, “Mr. Rivera, I’ve thought it over. I come to work tomorrow after all.
“Why? Why do you want to come back? Don’t push yourself,” Scan replied.
Hailey sniffled and said in a hurt tone, “I’m just worried about you. I’m afraid they won’t remember your habits. You need a cup of sugar–free coffee every morning at exactly 45 degrees. If you don’t have a lunch meeting, you always have lunch from Boutique Foodie, and in the afternoon, you take an hour to work out in the gym downstairs, so your workout clothes need to be ready. You prefer a light dinner. I’m afraid they won’t get these details right. Let me be by your side for a few more days and train someone to take over my job. Once they’re familiar, I’ll leave.”
Sean, who had been completely drained, felt his heart warm as he listened to Hailey’s words. He was instantly touched and responded tenderly, “Hailey, you’re so good to me. I’m just worried you might be overburdened. Why don’t you take a few days off? I can manage.”
“No need, I’ll be there tomorrow. I can handle it, Mr. Rivera. I have a clear conscience. What happened today wasn’t my doing. I was the victim. I believe that justice will prevail,” Hailey said with strength and conviction.
Sean couldn’t help but laugh, “Hailey, you’re so innocent and kind. Don’t worry, I will make sure you get justice. I’ll have Alyssa publicly apologize to you and clear your name.”

“Thank you, Mr. Rivera. I believe in you,” Hailey said softly, expressing her gratitude with trust.
Her response greatly satisfied Sean’s ego. He replied warmly, “Alright, it’s getting late. Get some rest, and I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Okay, I’ll sleep now. Goodnight, Mr. Rivera,” Hailey said.
After hanging up, Hailey smugly raised an eyebrow. At this rate, Sean would soon see her as more important than that 20% share. With a smirk, Hailey thought to herself, ‘Alyssa, your days of pride are numbered. Sean and I will be together soon. Did you really think you could be untouchable just because you hold shares in Rivorn? Foolish.”
With that thought, Hailey smiled and finally felt at peace enough to sleep.

The next morning, Alyssa woke up at seven. As she got up to freshen up, she noticed someone new in the house, a woman in her forties, with a kind and friendly appearance. Seeing Alyssa, the woman smiled and greeted her. “Ms. Dawson, you’re awake. What would you like for breakfast today? I should have asked you yesterday, but Andrew didn’t tell me you were staying. Today’s meal might be a bit rushed, so please bear with it.”
Alyssa stared at the woman in surprise and asked, “Who are you?”
“Oh, I’m Myrna Wolfe. I come here daily to clean and cook for you. I don’t live here, so don’t worry, Ms. Dawson, I won’t be in your way,” Myrna said with a warm smile.
Alyssa blinked in realization and thought, ‘So, there is a housekeeper in the house. Last night, she thought Andrew was diligent and tidy, assuming he was the one cleaning the house every day.
Alyssa gave a polite smile and said, “You’re not in the way at all.”
