Chapter 41
Alyssa looked at Andrew and mentally compared his appearance to Sean’s. ‘Gaia is quite right; Andrew indeed looks much better than Sean. Just considering his height, he must be around 6 feet, which gave him a significant advantage over Sean’s 5.7 feet.
“Then, his face, which could be both handsome and sinister, along with a pair of charming eyes. Most importantly, the aura he carries is one of natural nobility and elegance, far more genuine than Sean’s acquired demeanor. What have I been thinking back then, to be so infatuated with Sean?‘
As she continued to compare Andrew to Sean, Andrew walked up to her, took the suitcase she was dragging, and lifted it effortlessly. Frowning, he asked, “This light? Is this all you have?”
‘Or perhaps she hasn’t brought all her belongings and still has things left at Sean’s place. Is she just pretending in front of her best friend for my benefit?‘ thought Andrew.
“Just a few clothes,” Alyssa said. “Many things I felt were unnecessary. One should know when to let go.”
Andrew smirked. ‘Does she think I’ll believe that? Do I look stupid to her? Humph, I’ll see how she plans to help Sean steal company secrets from under me. I’ll keep her right under my nose and watch her antics.’
He strode toward the car with the suitcase.
Alyssa was about to follow when Gaia grabbed her arm. “Alyssa, do you know him? Who is he? He’s so hot.”
Alyssa didn’t want to hide anything from Gaia, and she also didn’t want her friend to think she was still hung up on Sean. So, she straightforwardly said, “He’s my husband.”
“**hat…” Gaia, who hadn’t been paying attention and was still looking at Andrew, suddenly realized what Alyssa had said and
claimed in surprise, “What did you say?”
“He’s my husband,” Alyssa said with a smile.
“Oh my god, say that again. I didn’t hear clearly,” Gaia said, rubbing her ears.
Alyssa repeated several times, “My husband, he’s my husband, Gaia. I’m truly done with Sean, and besides, I’m married
now.”
Gala swallowed hard, blinked a few times, and after a long pause she asked, “Married? You mean you married him? When’s the wedding?”
Alyssa shrugged. “We haven’t discussed it; probably not going to have one.”
“What?” Gaia exploded. “How can there not be a wedding? Marriage is a big deal. You’re giving your whole life to him, and he won’t give you a proper wedding? What about an engagement gift?”
Alyssa was taken aback and shook her head. “None.”
“No engagement gifts?” Gaia pinched the bridge of her nose. “Alyssa, did you end up with another gold digger? Are you running a charity here? Supporting one after another?”
“It’s not like that… Alyssa struggled to explain.
“What’s wrong with you?” Gaia poked her forehead. “Do you have such poor taste in men?”
Before Alyssa could respond, Andrew’s voice came from behind “Are we leaving or not?”
Alyssa wasn’t sure when he had come over or how much of their conversation he had heard. Most importantly, had he heard

She quickly told Gaia, “I’ll explain later when I have time. I have to go now; it’s getting late. You should sleep early too since you have work tomorrow.”
