Chapter 39
Later, Alyssa came to realize that Shannon disliked her father and even extended that dislike to her. Shannon’s relationship. with her father was purely due to a one–night stand, and because of the pregnancy, Shannon reluctantly gave birth to Alyssa. As a result, from a young age, Shannon placed Alyssa in her aunt’s care and rarely visited her.
Hailey’s father, Mike Campbell, was Shannon’s first love. Shannon deeply loved Mike, and as a result, she also took a liking to Hailey.
In a past life, it was only until Alyssa’s death that she found out her name was chosen by Shannon to remember Mike.
Thinking back on these things, Alyssa smiled bitterly.
In her past life, she yearned for familial love and maternal affection, almost blindly following Shannon’s instructions. When Shannon told her to be nice to Hailey, she complied. When Shannon asked her to cook for Hailey or help with her stomach issues, she did so. But what did she gain in the end?
Nothing. No family affection, no maternal love, and ultimately, she even led to her father’s death and ended up in a psychiatric hospital herself.
In this life, she didn’t need maternal love anymore; she just wanted to reclaim what belonged to her and seek justice for her father.
She had no plans to call Shannon back either.
However, there was one thing left undone. By now, the incident this afternoon with Hailey seducing Sean should have already caused quite a stir at the company.
Alyssa decided to give Sean another gift.
She opened her laptop, anonymously logged into the forum of Rivorn Clothing, and posted under an observer’s identity.
he detailed how she helped Sean run the company and the promises he made to her at that time, along with evidence–all ne chat records she had kept.
Thankfully, she used to keep every detail of her relationship with Sean, including their chat records, which she never deleted, and now they were put to good use.
After posting these details, she also uploaded the voice recording where Sean defended Hailey this afternoon.
She adopted the role of an observer once more, dissecting the current dynamics between Sean, herself, and Hailey with crystal–clear logic, effectively branding Sean as ungrateful and treacherous.
She was aware that by now, Rivorn Clothing had grown and strengthened, and these matters might have some impact on the company, but the effects wouldn’t be too significant. She didn’t care; Rome wasn’t built in a day, right?
Her goal was to gradually destroy Rivorn Clothing, to show Sean that she was capable of building it up just as she could tear it down.
Having done all this, Andrew still hadn’t arrived. She simply turned on the TV and watched while waiting.
Unexpectedly, she ended up waiting until nine o’clock, and even Gaia had returned, yet Andrew was still nowhere to be seen.
Upon Gaia’s return and seeing Alyssa still there, she excitedly hugged her. “You’re still here! Does that mean you’re not leaving?”
Alyssa replied helplessly, “It seems… I might not leave, since the person who was supposed to pick me up hasn’t come.” Hearing the resignation in Alyssa’s voice, Gaia’s first thought was that Alyssa must be waiting for Sean. Over the years, she

had witnessed Alyssa’s dedication to Sean and knew how deeply she loved him. When it came to matters of love, how easy was it to just forget?
Gaia thought to herself, ‘Alyssa mentioned in a WhatsApp message carlier that she wasn’t going back to Sean’s place, probably out of fear that I would criticize her for being spineless right?‘
