Chapter 22
Andrew quickly checked the group message and then started typing back.
Andrew: [Hey, Grandpa. Sorry, but the big day is nowhere around the corner. Grandma, love ya, but can we not bother with the blind setups? Dad, let’s not compete with Mr. Wyatt on this. And Mom, some things are just out of my hands, right?]
Julian: [Wow, talking back now, are we?]
Andrew: [Just trying to answer you guys.]
Julian: [Not really the responses we were hoping for.]
Celine: [Can we all just take a breath and not fight?
Leanna: [Andrew, don’t be silly. Let me hook you up with some dates in Endale City. There’s a whole mix. I’m sure one’s just right for you.]
Andrew couldn’t help but feel a mix of shock and slight panic as he scrolled through his group messages. The idea that his grandma might actually send those girls his way had him worried. After all, he had moved from Northville to Endale City just to dodge the marriage bullet, but here it was, chasing him down again.

He glanced at Alyssa, a slight frown on his face, and dropped a bombshell. “Forget the 20% cut. Marry me, and I’ll sort you out with a job.”
He figured it was better to marry someone he had been at odds with for years rather than a total stranger. At least with Alyssa, he was confident there wouldn’t be any messy feelings to complicate things, making a future split easier.
“What?” Alyssa blinked, thinking she had misheard.
Andrew put his phone aside and fixed Alyssa with a serious look, “Marrying me could clear the air, making sure you’re not just a mole for Mr. Rivera. I mean, Rivorn Clothing hasn’t made any progress for a couple of years now.”

Alyssa opened her mouth to object, then paused, suddenly unsure. She realized that when it came down to it, who she married wouldn’t change her stance on love.
Mulling it over briefly, she nodded. “Alright. If Mr. Coleman sees marriage as the solution, I’m on board.”
Now, it was Andrew’s turn to be caught off guard. He looked at her, asking. “Are you sure?”
“Yep, totally.” Alyssa nodded confidently.
“Great, I’ll meet you in front of the city hall tomorrow at 8 AM, Andrew said.
Alyssa nodded. “Okay, I’ll see you then.”
After leaving Coleman Fashion, Alyssa hit up the convenience store next door and grabbed a hotdog for her dinner. While getting ready to pay, she realized she had a whopping 54 missed calls–all from Brenda and Megan.
She rolled her eyes, wondering if this was going to be another lecture about not tidying up the kitchen last night. Deciding to just shrug it off, she paid, gave her phone a quick charge, and then hit up the staff for some water,
It hit her that she hadn’t really treated herself to something tasty in the last couple of years, so she thought, “Why not go all our today?
She ended

hotdog with extra sauces and pickles.
When her feast was ready, the smell was so tempting that she almost started drooling right there and then.
And just as she was about to dig in, someone behind her chimed in with, “After we get married, I won’t eat this.”
