Sean kept his mouth shut, while Hailey put on her most sympathetic face and coaxed, “Come on, Alyssa, just go along with this. till make things so much easier for you. We’ll handle everything-
“Who the hell do you think you are, talking to me like that? Alyssa snapped, her voice ice–cold, her eyes filled with disgust. “You’re just the chauffeur’s daughter. What gives you the right to try and make deals with me?”
Hailey used to be the friend Alyssa trusted most in the world, the one she shared every secret with. But now, that friendship felt like the worst betrayal of all. She never imagined Hailey would side with Sean to throw her into this mess.
Hailey clenched her teeth, fists balled up, but with Sean there, she had to keep her cool. Instead, she put on a wounded expression. “Alyssa. I’ve always seen you as my sister. Is this how you treat me? You never really accepted me, did you? You’ve always thought you were better than me.
Alyssa let out a sharp, bitter laugh. Hailey’s acting was always on point–perfectly blending sweet innocence with cunning manipulation. It made Alyssa’s skin crawl
“Damn right, I think I’m better than you, Alyssa said with a cold smirk. “Looks, brains, family, friends–you’ve never measured up. Why would I ever think highly of you?”
Sean cut in, jumping to Hailey’s defense, “Alyssa, stop being such an ungrateful bitch. Hailey’s the Campbell family’s heiress now, and you’re just a crazy chick locked up in a psych ward. She’s giving you a chance here, and you should be kissing her ass for f

Hailey, simmering with anger, still managed to keep her delicate and brave facade. She turned to Sean, her voice soft and sweet. “Sean, don’t be like that. I’m fine. Let me try to talk to her. You step outside for a bit, I promise I’ll get her to agree to transfer that 20% stake to you

Sean gave her a tender look, a touch of pity in his eyes. “Hailey, don’t waste yo time on this.”
Hailey met his gaze with unwavering devotion. “For you, it’s worth it. Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”
Sean glanced back at Alyssa, a cold smirk curling his lips, then turned and walked out.
Hailey slammed the door shut, and in an instant, her pathetic facade vanished, replaced by a look of pure malice. Her eyes burned with intensity as she stared straight at Alyssa.
Alyssa sat with her back straight, her slender neck angled slightly upward. Even leaning against the table leg, there was an unmistakable aura of pride and defiance in her. Her smile was reckless, like she was laughing in the face of the whole damn. world.
Hailey’s eyes were fixed on her. Alyssa might’ve had a frail frame, her muscles barely visible, but that fierce pride and rebellious streak were still there, clear as day. Even slouched against the table leg, she seemed completely at ease, like she belonged on a pedestal, far above the reach of mere mortals.
Jealousy and resentment churned inside Hailey, dark and bitter. She hated how Alyssa always seemed so calm, so unshakeable, like nothing in this world could touch her.
Hailey swore to herself that she would drag this so–called goddess down to earth, make her taste the dirt.
She let out a harsh, mocking laugh, her words dripping with spite. “What the hell are you so cocky about, Alyssa? Yeah, you were something once–smart, gorgeous, born into the right family. But so what? Look at you now. Everything you had is mine. Do you even recognize yourself in the mirror anymore? Your precious designs, your so–called talent–every single ope of them has my name on it now. And that family of yours? Your dad’s dead, your mom took all his money and ran off to marry my dad. I’m the Campbell heiress now, and you? You’re nothing. Absolutely fucking nothing.”
Through Hailey’s nasty tirade, Alyssa’s face stayed the same–calm, indifferent, like she hadn’t even heard her.
