Chapter 1
Deep in the heart of Endale City, in the depths of a forgotten psychiatric hospital, Alyssa Dawson lay curled up in a dark, damp room.
Her body was caked in filth, and the air was thick with the stench of rot and decay.
Years of abuse and forced injections had wasted her away, leaving her bedridden and covered in sores. Every attempt to move was a struggle, a battle against sweat and pain.
Finally, with a desperate effort, she managed to roll over–only to hit the cold, hard floor with a thud.
As despair began to consume her, she heard footsteps approaching. Two figures stopped just inches from her face. A sharp. mocking voice shattered the silence. “Goddammit, fucking disgusting. My new Prada shoes, ruined because of you.“–
Alyssa struggled to lift her head, and through the haze, she saw her husband, Sean Rivera, standing close to her best friend, Hailey Campbell Their cold, indifferent faces were like daggers to her heart.
Hatred surged through her like wildfire. Her fingers clawed at the table leg, nails breaking, blood smearing her fingertips. But she refused to back down, forcing herself to sit up, clinging to the last scrap of her dignity.
Sean’s expression darkened with irritation. Alyssa, lose that fucking look. I miss when you used to look at me like you loved

me.

Alyssa let out a bitter laugh, tears mixing with the bitterness in her voice. After everything you’ve done, you think I could still love you?”
“Isn’t love supposed to be unconditional?” Sean shot back, his tone cold. “I didn’t give you what you wanted, so you decided to stop loving me? Guess your love wasn’t all that deep after all.”
“Not that deep. Alyssa muttered, her eyes slowly closing, a storm of emotions raging inside her. Only she knew how completely she had once loved Sean

Back in college, their hearts had grown closer. Despite Sean’s rough background, Alyssa never cared about money. She covered everything–meals, outings, even his living expenses–without a single complaint.
When her father, Mateo Dawson, gave her a house, she signed it over to Sean, just because he didn’t want to be labeled a “kept man.” After his family moved in, she did everything she could to keep the peace, practically becoming a full–time caregiver for his mother and sister.
After graduation, Alyssa turned down offers from big–name companies because Sean wanted to start his own business and not work for someone else.
She became his rock, working late nights, and chasing every opportunity they could get. She never backed down, no matter how many people mocked them, all to support his dream.
The hardest part was missing her father’s death because she was away on a trip for Sean’s project, Her family and friends called her ungrateful, a traitor. She risked everything for him and almost lost it all.
And now, he brushed it all off like it didn’t even matter. Alyssa felt her heart freeze and shatter into pieces.
“Stop with the pathetic act,” Sean snapped. “Just sign the damn stock transfer. Stay home and draw for Hailey. I swear you’ll have a comfortable life”
A bitter smile crept onto Alyssa’s lips. ‘A comfortable life?‘ she mattered under her breath, staring blankly into the distance. With this broken body, what comfort is there?‘
She lifted her head, meeting Sean’s gaze. That 20% of the company? I earned it with my blood, sweat, and tears. Why the

hell should I just hand it over to you? And why the fuck should design for Hailey, make her famous, make her shine? Why?
