“Rise and shine! We’ll be boarding this afternoon. You’ll be coming with me,” cooed Anthony.
“What?” Isabella sat up on the bed with her eyes wide open and refused unexpectedly. “Im not going”
That failed to annoy Anthony. He simply stared at Isabella and reminded her softly. “Don’t forget what you promised me yesterday”
Isabella regained her composure and kept silent with her head down. She had known the day would come since she gave him her word, but she did not expect it to happen so soon.
Knowing that there was no escaping it and no way she could talk him out of it, she gave in. “What about Theo and my parents?”
“Of course, they’ll be staying put. When the Clara family is stable, you can bring them over. Don’t worry. Il send someone to keep them safe,” was Anthony’s answer.
“Can’t it wait for a couple of days more! This is too sudden Isabella was reluctant to go separate ways with Theodore
“Sorry, Grandpa is working on something about the border. If we don’t want him to know what happened here, we must head back as soon as possible,” Anthony explained patiently.
Isabella closed her eyes helplessly and continued, “When’s the boarding time?”
Came Anthony’s revelation. “In three hours. Minus the time on the road, you have an hour left.”
“Got it. Leave me first, remarked Isabella.
Anthony came out of labella’s room and waited in the yard.
Isabella packed her luggage and came to George and Layla’s room.
At that time. Theodore was still asleep while her parents were wide awake. The aduhs stayed in because the yard was full of strangers
When they saw habella coming in, they both asked with concem, “How are you holding up, Izzy!”
Not wanting them to fret, Isabella forced a smile. “Mom, Dad, I’m fine. Please continue to watch ‘Theo. I’ll be back once I get things settled”
“What’s that supposed to mean! Are you leaving Layla was surprised.
Isabella spilled her concerns and intentions. In order not to worry the folks, she explained, “Don’t worry. I’ll be okay.”
After saying goodbye, Isabella hugged Theodore, who was sleeping like a baby, and left before she broke down.
Seeing her reddened eyes. Anthony was distressed, thus comforting her. “Rest assured. I’ll give you the reunion before you know it”
Isabella glared daggers at him, thinking. If not for you, I wouldn’t have to separate from my son
Giving him the cold shoulder, Isabella walked off ahead. Anthony followed.
They soon arrived at the airport on time.
Isabella veiled her face. Anthony and the rest, too, dressed up to avoid attracting attention.
Perhaps Anthony had disappeared for too long that the second and third branches of the Clara family relaxed their vigilance and did not find fault with him
At 3 pm, they got off the plane. Upon landing. Anthony received a message from William asking for him at the Clara residence.
Anthony turned to Isabella and suggested in a deep voice, “I’m gonna have to send you to Royal Blue Bay first.”
“Are you trying to hide me lubella asked with a frown. She had heard it all when Anthony was talking on the phone.
“Do you wanna go with me to see my grandpa?” Anthony was not sure, for Isabella was rather repulsive, or hated any contact even, to the Clara family. To hear her volunteering to follow him back to the Clara residence was odd.
I had been away from home for too long. Since he did not know what the situation of the Clara Lunily was, he did not want to risk it
Before lubella could sprak, Anthony explained, “The situation at the Clara residence is still unknown, 10 ji ́s not suitable for you to go. I’ll take you there afterward, okay?”

“I came back for revenge, not to be held captive. My presence can make those evil ones give themselves away and get me the leads.” Isabella’s gaze was firm. She gnashed her teeth when she recalled what had happened back then.
She had wanted to spend the rest of her life at the border peacefully, but since Anthony insisted on bringing her back, she had to settle that old
Anthony stared at Isabella for a long time and finally agreed, “Okay, I’ll guarantee your safety.”
With that, they drove to the Clara residence.
It was an hour’s drive. Isabella got out of the car after Anthony
In the living room of the Clara residence, a group of people had already been seated.
There was the second branch of the Clara family led by Shawn Clara and the third branch of the Clara family led by Lewis Clara.
They seldom visited unless it was during the festivals. Nevertheless, ever since Anthony went missing at the border, their visits turned frequent, all clamoring about re–electing the head of the family.
On that issue, both branches had been working together, seizing the golden opportunity to dethrone Anthony, so to speak.
Thut fateful day, each of them took turns to make their opinions heard.
“Dad, a business empire this big like ours can’t always be having no CEO. I think since Anthony isn’t feeling well, best if we let him recuperate. Since we’re family, we should play our part.”
“Yes, Grandpa. Anthony’s still so young. His health is the most important thing. The speaker was the eldest son of the second branch of the Clara family, Zadury Clara.
He might be from the second branch, but he was older than Anthony, so he was not convinced that Anthony was bestowed the head of the Clara family.

“Thank you for your special concern, Uncle Shawn, Uncle Lewis.” Anthony walked in with a smile, shocking everyone present.
“Didn’t he fall off the cliff with his car at the border? How could he have shown up unharmed, not to mention fit as a fiddle, were their thoughts. Shawn and Lewis secretly exchanged a look
Anthony stood before them, asking frostily. “Why? Are you all that surprised to see me here?”
“Of course, not. We’re excited to see you home. Thank goodness you’re back safe and sound” Lewis realized what had happened and tried to brush things off.
Came Sluwn’s speech in a rush. “You’re the only heir of your dad. We all hope you’re safe.
Anthony narrowed his eyes which shone with iciness.
To see them putting on a show, he reckoned that people who did not know them better would have been deceived by their hypocritical masks.
