Chapter 196
Cynthia slept soundly and was woken up by the flight attendant just before the plane landed. She and Lam took the VIP passage when disembarking, while Queena had to push through the crowd with everyone else. They met up at the baggage claim and then headed to the airport exit together. This particular terminal was situated on the border, where the airport itself boasted a straightforward, unassuming design. As they strolled out of the terminal, their gaze was immediately drawn to the majestic silhouette of distant mountains that loomed before them.
she
Queena had lived in the city all year round. Excitement bubbled over her, as she stepped foot in this new place. She nearly jumped with joy as si tightly clutched Cynthia’s hand. “Cynthia, is this where you grew up! It is absolutely beautiful.” Looking at the people around her, Queen added, Everyone seems so friendly here. They don’t strike me as dangerous people”
Cynthia replied helplessly, “You know, Queena, bad people don’t always show their true intentions. The friendlier they seem around here, the more cautious you should be. They might kidnap and sell you in the next instant”
Just as she finished speaking, a group of people in military uniforms rushed by and pinned a seemingly kind–looking middle–aged man in his 40s to the ground. They found a packet of white powder and a black weapon on him.
The man, who looked amiable, now looked ferocious and struggled with all his might to break free. Despite his valiant efforts, he found himself outnumbered and swiftly overpowered by the soldiers who swiftly subdued him. The man was quickly handcuffed and taken away by the soldiers.
Queena, terrified, hid behind Cynthia. The man taken away was the one she had just thought looked friendly. Feeling uneasy, she muttered, “Appearances can be deceiving.”
Cynthia tapped her on the head. “You’re scared now. I told you not to come, but you insisted on coming with me. I wanted to send you back right away, but the flights are fully booked. You’ll have to stay with me for a few days. Don’t wander off

Queena promptly made a solemn oath, saying, “I promise.”
Cynthia nodded with satisfaction. They stood at the airport entrance for about ten minutes before an old Jeep rumbled up
The car came to a halt before them, and Hallet emerged from the vehicle. Standing over 5 feet 10 inches tall, he was dressed stylishly in black. His hair was meticulously styled in the latest fashion, gelled to perfection, and he wore a pair of sunglasses. Hallet walked straight to Queena, bent down, and extended his hand. “Welcome, beautiful”
After the earlier incident, Queena was wary of everyone here. Besides, the man in front of her didn’t look particularly trustworthy. She leaned closer to Cynthia.
Cynthia, who had been ignored, was stunned by his behavior. “Are you possessed? You’re dressed decently. Where’s your flowery shirt”
Speechlessly, Hallet furrowed his brows. “Can’t you say something nice for once! Don’t you need me to speak well of you in front of the masters?”
Cynthia immediately surrendered. “I wouldn’t dare.” She then introduced Queena, then pulled Liam forward. “Hallet, this is Liam. My husband.” Cynthia blushed at the last two words
Behind his sunglasses, Hallet rolled his eyes dramatically. Sarcastically, he mimicked Cynthia. “My husband. Ugh… After saying that, he felt goosebumps all over.
Seeing his antics, Cynthia clenched her fits tightly

Liam stepped forward and politely extended his hand. “Hello, I’m Liam Sullivan His distinguished aura exerted an invisible pressure on everyone
present
Hallet politely extended his hand for a handshake while stubbornly standing on tiptoe. He felt shorter standing next to Liam, even though he was over 5 feet 10 inches tall. Haller silently assessed Liam, thinking. He’s tall, and his appearance is comparable to mine. He has an extraordinary temperament and is passable for Cynthia Haller put on airs. “All right. Get in the car. He then opened the front passenger door for Queena “Queena, you can sit here.”
Queena looked at Cynthia for approval.
Just before the plane took off, Cynthia discovered that Queena was on the plane and sent a message to Hallet. She asked him to drive instead of nding his motorcycle when he came to pick them up. The car could only seat two in the back, so someone had to sit in front. After some thought Cynthia pointed at Liam and said, “Hallet, you and Liam should sit together.”
Liam understood Cynthia’s intention and walked toward the passenger seat.
Hallet immediately blocked the door. “Well, the passenger seat is for a smoother ride and meant for guests. You two can forget in.”
Cynthia rolled her eyes at him. “He is also a guest”
Hallet looked at Liam with disdain. The only guest here is Queena. You two are here to atone, so you should know your place. It’s good that I didn’t let you sit in the trunk. Why are you picky?”
Chapter 196
Cynthia growled. Halles, don’t push it”
“Oh? Is someone angry! Do you want to deal with me?” Hallet taunted and stuck out his tongue. “You can try once Master Buckley and Master Caren are no longer mad at you.”
Cynthia glared at the infuriating person, then closed her eyes for a moment before reopening them. She had Liam sit in the back as Hallet instructed, lesting Queena take the passenger seat, Just when Hallet was satisfied, Cynthia snatched the car key from his hand and sat in the driver’s seat. “Are you getting in or not, Hallet?” she asked, pecking out and raising an eyebrow
Hallet looked at his empty palm and made a fist at Cynthia before reluctantly getting in the back.
The moment he got in the car, he felt a chill approaching him. Hallet shivered and instinctively moved closer to the door. “You’ll regret letting her drive, Hallet wared, thinking of the trouble ahead. He couldn’t help but remind the others. At this moment, Cynthia was brimming with excitement. It had been a long time since she had driven here.
The old pickup truck looked worn out and was designed to be inconspicuous in this area. However, its performance far surpassed many high–end
Cynthia used to race in this very truck back when she was at the border. The familiar feeling of the steering wheel awakened her dormant wild side. She completely forgot about the passengers and drove off like an arrow shot from a bow,
Evan and Delilah lived in the mountains, which was quite far from the airport. The mountains were connected one after another here, with gravel roads that were difficult to navigate. The route was a rocky path with many curves, challenging the driver’s skills and the passengers‘ endurance.
Queena, having never seen such places, was thrilled. She gazed out the window with excitement. Both women had sparkling eyes. Meanwhile, the two men in the backseat clung to the handlebars Their faces were pale, and they took deep breaths.
