Chapter 95
Millie raised her eyes and spotted Simon’s car nearby. He sat inside and was silently observing them. Soon after, he stepped out and walked toward them.

Reacting to his approach, Millie discreetly moved aside, creating a distance between herself and Winston. Her subtle action pricked at Winston’s emotions.
“Millie, am I late?” Simon asked, his voice playful.
“No, not at all,” she replied. It was Winston who had arrived early.
“Shall I accompany you for your hospital appointment?” he asked.
With a nod, Millie agreed and began walking alongside Simon.
Winston’s grip on Millie’s wrist tightened. Beneath the trees, morning sunlight peeked through the branches, casting a soft glow on them.
His eyes lingered on Millie’s trembling wrist, his throat tightening. With a calm yet cold voice, be asked, “Are you sure about going with him?”
Meeting Winston’s gaze, Millie found his gaze inscrutable, leaving her perplexed.
Perhaps her struggle to understand Winston wasn’t confined to this moment alone. Throughout their years together, she had never truly understood him.

memory
ory flashed in Millie’s mind from their final year of college. Winston had come to see her with Joanna, informing her that their engagement was off
The scene was eerily similar to that–Winston holding Joanna’s hand firmly while Millie reached out tentatively, asking, “Are you sure about calling off our engagement?”
Back then, he had pushed her away and left with Joanna. She had felt vulnerable, observed by the entire college.
“Winston, enough.” Millie’s voice remained composed.
Winston’s gaze sharpened as he witnessed Millie withdraw her hand and move toward Simon.
Opening the car door for Millie, Simon turned to Winston with a smile. “Mr. Greer, I’ll take care of Millie.
You can trust me.”
Millie paused by the car door and lifted her gaze to meet Winton’s. The light illuminated his face, his eyes ablaze with emotion. Her heart faltered, revealing her lingering feelings.
As Millie bent to enter the car, Winston’s throat tightened, and his gaze darkened. With purposeful steps, he moved toward her.
Sensing Winston’s intent, Simon furrowed his brows, ready to intervene. But Winston seized Millie’s arm before he could act and effortlessly lifted her up.
“Winston!” Millie exclaimed, “Have you lost your mind again?”

Ignoring her protests, Winston glanced at Simon. His gaze was intense and sharp as a blade. Through gritted teeth, he said, “Mr. Harrison, my wife’s affairs are none of your concern.”
Millie froze in disbelief.
Winston’s features were almost contorted with tensión, Mille wonderwhether his actions were it some strange form of male possessiveness.
“Put me down,” Millie demanded as she pushed against Winston’s chest. Frustration was evident in
her tone.
“Do you even know what you’re doing?” she asked through gritted teeth, her voice barely audible to anyone but him.
Winston lowered his eyes, his voice husky as he held her close. “Millie, if you’re serious about divorce, behave well.”
“What do you mean by that?” Millie was bewildered.
Placing Millie in the passenger seat, Winston’s gaze settled on her, his words plain and simple. “You heard me.”
